“…Recently, our group obtained a broad emission within the orange-red region in Ce,(Pr,Mn):YAG TCs, through utilizing the "wide and narrow peak coupling effect" of Pr 3+ and Mn 2+ ions, and a high CRI value of 84.8 was realized [16]. Similar discoveries could be found elsewhere, such as Ce 3+ ,Mn 2+ ,Si 4+ :YAG [17], Al 2 O 3 -Ce,Gd:YAG [18], Ce:(Tb,Gd) 3 Al 5 O 12 [19] and Ce:Gd 3 Al 4 GaO 12 [20], etc.. Additionally, it has been found that composite structure TCs are promising due to their high saturation threshold and excellent thermal performance. the ceramic shows no luminescence saturation even under a high power density of 50 W/mm 2 [22].…”

“…In recent years, solid-state lighting has been considered as a new generation of light source, [1][2][3][4] which has been widely used in various lighting fields due to the advantages of high luminous efficiency, low energy consumption, environmental friendliness, and long service life. [5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13] For example, the commercial lighting emitting diodes (LEDs) normally use 460 nm blue light to excite Y 3 Al 5 O 12 :Ce 3+ (YAG:Ce) yellow phosphor dispersed in epoxy or silicone to generate white light. 14,15 However, these organic materials have drawbacks of reduced luminous efficacy (LE), lower lifetime, shift of emission color, and reduced sensory comfort of human eyes due to the poor heat resistance and thermal conductivity (0.1-0.4 W•m -1 K -1 ).…”

“…However, although the gelcasting technology has been developed for decades and it has unique advantages in the preparation of transparent ceramics, there are still some problems that have not been completely solved up to now . The transparent ceramics prepared by gelcasting were generally small round wafer or rectangular strip (about 10‐30 mm in diameter or length) . Even if some ceramics were prepared into large sizes, they were usually the round or rectangular and could not achieve large‐size rods with a huge special aspect ratio (>10) or extreme dimension size .…”

[26][27][28][29] Even if some ceramics were prepared into large sizes, they were usually the round or rectangular and could not achieve large-size rods with a huge special aspect ratio (>10) or extreme dimension size. 30,31 Large-sized rod ceramics needed the higher requirements for the initial strength of green body in order to transport and dry.…”
