Аіm. To determine the specifics of the formation of millet productivity as well as of grain quality indicators depending on the varietal features and a predecessor under conditions of Polissia. Methods. Field, laboratory, statistical and comparative-calculation methods. The study of the adaptive capacity of the millet varieties “Kharkivske 57” and “Vitrylo“ was conducted during the period of 2018–2020 on the sod-podzolic sandy-loam soils of Polissia. Results. As follows from the results of the study the rational choice of the predecessor promotes to the formation of the millet yield potential of 2.71–3.55 t/hаwith the protein content in seeds – 12.1–13.2 % under favourable conditions in Polissia. The millet variety ”Vitrylo” showed the highest level of the genetic potential realization, its yield was by 0.11–0.28 % t/ha higher as compared with “Kyivske 96” variety depending on a predecessor. Conclusions. The dependence of the formation of millet productivity and of the mass of 1000 seeds depending on the predecessor was studied. On the average the increase in the grain yield during the years of study equaled 0.50–0.73 t/ha under a millet sowing after bare fallow and buckwheat. The cultivation of the varieties “Kyivske 76” and “Vitrylo” after bare fallow and buckwheat promotes to an increase of 1000 seeds mass up to 8.4–9.1 and 9.1–9.3 g respectively. The results of a chemical composition of millet grain depending on the biological varietal features and a predecessor are given. The sowing of the millet varieties “Kyivske 76” and “Vitrylo” after bare fallow promotes to an increase in the amount of protein up to 12.7 and 13.5 % respectively. The study of millet varieties reaction on the innovative elements of the adaptive cultivation technologies under Polissia conditions are prospective.

The influence of the use of fertiliser systems with elements of biologisation and tillage on the yield, economic and energy efficiency of spring barley is investigated. The purpose of the study is to identify the impact of the implemented tillage systems with elements of minimisation and fertiliser with elements of biologisation on the productivity and economic indicators of spring barley. It is established that in the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine, the aftereffect of applying high rates of organic and mineral fertilisers on typical chernozem has a positive effect on the yield of spring barley, increasing it, in comparison with the control, by 0.55-1.10 t/ha for ploughing, by 0.65-1.35 t/ha for deep chisel cultivation and by 0.55-1.30 t/ha for shallow. It was identified that the highest yield of the crop (3.85 t/ha) was obtained against the background of shallow flat tillage and the aftereffect of organo-mineral fertiliser using manure. The use of fertilisers contributed to an increase in the protein content of spring barley grain. The influence of tillage systems on the content of barley protein was reliably observed only in the fertiliser variant with the introduction of straw, green manure, and mineral fertilisers. The use of shallow chisel tillage against the background of organo-mineral fertiliser provides a reduction in the prime cost of production by UAH 142.9/tonne, an increase in conditional net profit by UAH 886/ha, and a 21.2% reduction in energy costs compared to ploughing

In the conditions of the Southern Steppe zone of Ukraine the influence of weather factors of the region on the formation of cherry yield within the limits of 2007-2019 years of researches is revealed. The correlation analysis allowed us to identify ten weather factors that have a notable (significant) and strong, both direct and inverse linear correlation with cherry yield (r = 0.68…-0.86). The model describing the influence of hydrothermal factors on cherry yield is proposed. Multicollinearity effects were detected when analyzing data using paired correlation coefficients and VIF. In this case, using the least squares method to construct and analyze the regression model is inefficient. A regression model based on the LASSO method is proposed. The LASSO method allows reliable estimation of regression parameters. On the basis of the constructed model the factors influencing the cherry yield index are analyzed and it is shown that the most significant factor is the average monthly rainfall for August, mm, then the factor is the absolute minimum relative humidity in May, %, the amount of rainfall during the flowering period, mm, the amount of the effective flowering temperatures, °C, the difference between average maximum and minimum flowering temperatures, °C, the total number of days with precipitation during flowering period, day, the average of maximum air temperatures during flowering period, the amount of active temperatures during flowering period, °C, the amount of active temperatures during the growing season (before the fruit ripening phase), °C, the hydrothermal coefficient (HTC) during flowering period. The indices of the share of influence of each factor on the total variance of the cherry yield index are determined. The share of influence of the factor is x1-9.
