Abstract: Because of their cytostatic/apoptotic and immunomodulatory effects mistletoe extracts are often applied in tumour patients. Recent experimental data suggest that the mistletoe lectins Viscum album agglutinin (VAA)-I and -II are play an important role in the efficacy of mistletoe therapy.
