Zur Kenntnis der Verbindungen MCl₅· NSCl, (MCl₅)₂ · N₂S₂, S₄N₄Cl[MCl₆] und N(SCl)₂[MCl₆] von Niob und Tantal

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p> The pentachlorides MCI<jats:sub>5</jats:sub> (M = Nb, Ta) react with trithiazyl chloride in CCl<jats:sub>4</jats:sub> suspension to form the donor-acceptor com plexes MCl<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>-NSCl and (MC1<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> • N<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>S<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>. With excess (NSCl)<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> the ionic com pounds S<jats:sub>4</jats:sub>N<jats:sub>4</jats:sub>Cl[MCl<jats:sub>6</jats:sub>] are obtained. Reaction of the complexes MCl<jats:sub>5 </jats:sub>- NSCl with SCl<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> give another ionic species N(SCl)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>[MCl<jats:sub>6</jats:sub>] whereas thermal cleavage is found to result in the formation of (MCl<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> • N<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>S<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>. All products were characterized by their IR spectra.</jats:p>
