The relevance of this study lies in its potential implications for poultry farming practices and animal welfare. Understanding the impact of group size on the blood parameters of hens can provide valuable insights for optimising their health and well‐being in farming environments. The aim of the study was an analysis of haematological parameters of laying hens under the influence group size with the same stoking density in analogous cages by design. Hens were kept for 34 weeks in cages of multilevel batteries at different group sizes: I group—93 birds, II group—52 birds, III group—17 birds and IV group—9 birds. The study analysed blood samples from laying hens at 18 and 52 weeks of age. Results showed that reducing the group size from 93 to 52 birds led to a haematological status within the physiological norm, characterized by increased heterophils and decreased monocyte levels. Whereas, the decrease in group size to 17 birds was accompanied by a decrease in the hens' blood content of thrombocytes, an increase of heterophile, a decrease of monocytes and lymphocytes within the physiological norm, as well as an increase in the heterophiles to lymphocytes ratio.

The aim of the scientific work is to study the changes in the hematological indicators of chickens when they are kept at a high stocking density. In the conditions of the current complex for the formation of eggs, 4 groups of laying hens were formed. The results showed that high stocking density to 24.0 birds m-2 was accompanied by an increase in their blood of leukocytes by 12.2%, heterophils – by 1.8%, and a decrease in thrombocytes’ concentration by 4.0%. Provided that the planting density is increased to 25.3 birds m-2, there was an increase in the content of leukocytes by 13.7%, heterophils – by 3.1%, and a decrease in thrombocytes concentration by 10.8% with a decrease in their volume by 9.2%. Further increase in stocking density to 26.7 birds m-2 caused an increase in the blood content of leukocytes by 22.7%, heterophils – by 13.5%, and a decrease in thrombocytes concentration by 69.0% with a decrease in their volume by 18.6%. Thus, the high stocking density of laying hens is shown by changes in their hematological parameters, which is reflected in the increase of leukocytes, due to an increase in the number of heterophils, and a decrease in thrombocytes.

Objective. To identify specific features of the clinical course of Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) in children in order to optimize early and differential diagnosis, management tactics and treatment of pediatric patients Materials and Methods. A retrospective analysis of 159 probable and confirmed cases of Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever was carried out in patients admitted to the infectious diseases departments of Shymkent, district hospitals of Turkestan region for the period 2013–2022, of which 39 (24.5%) were children aged 1 to 18 years. Results. Of the 39 cases of CCHF in children, 9 (23.07%) were reported as confirmed, 5 (12.8%) as probable and 25 (64.1%) as suspected cases. In the epidemiological history, tick bite was noted in 25 (64.1%) cases. The incubation period in children and adolescents ranged from 1 to 14 days, on average – 9–8 days. Two children developed a severe complication of CCHF – hemoperitoneum. Conclusions. The probability of CCHF infection in children increases during the season of tick vector activity. The clinical picture of CCHF in children may be similar to manifestations of this infection in adults. Among the rare severe forms of CCHF, children may develop hemoperitoneum.
