The research examines the psychological and pedagogical issues of using online platforms to enhance the high-effectiveness of training cadets of non-linguistic specialties in higher military educational institutions (HMEI) in English. A system analysis of the online resources effectiveness has been carried out, priority vectors of synthesis of the traditional educational process and the potential of online platforms in the process of studying English by the cadets of HMEI have been allocated. It has been proved that the proposed strategy for optimizing the psychological and pedagogical basis for implementing the potential of online platforms allows to increase cadets’ learning motivation and expand the variations of their access to the resources of the educational virtual space. The key factors that influence the improvement of the quality of the use of online platforms in the educational process of HMEI have been allocated. The directions of perspective improvement and intensification of English speech competence of cadets to the level of requirements of the integrated language standard in the military sphere have been offered.
