The CH,OH elimination from one of the a-cleavage ions produced by fragmentation of the methyl esters of long-chain amino-acids is triggered by the interaction of both functional groups, even when these are located far apart. It involves, in part, one of the hydrogen atoms from theaminogroup and in part, one of the hydrogen atoms of the methylene group c( to the NH,-bearing carbon. Mechanisms for these eliminations are proposed and a comparison is made with the fragmentations of the w-amino esters, previously studied.R6sum6-L'klimination de CH,OH A partir d'un des ions de coupure a produits par la fragmentation
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
