Abstract— The methods and apparatus for accomplishing artificial insemination in chinchilla are described along with pertinent observations and discussion. This general subject is treated under the following topics: causes of sterility and means of alleviating some forms; anaesthetics and induction of anaesthesia; methods of ejaculating the male; sperm buffer media; evaluation of semen; technique of inseminating the female; surgical preparation of the vesiculectomized male for epididymal sperm.
