The objective of this research was to find out whether the use of tongue twister technique can improve students’ pronunciation especially in pronouncing sound /ð/, /d/, /θ/, /t/, /ᶴ/, and /s/ or not.The method of this research was pre-experimental with pre-test and post-test as an instrument of the research. The population of the research was the eleventh grade of SMP 2 Sungguminasa that consisted of 63 students. The number of samples was 33 students. The data collection consisted of pre-test, treatment and post-test. Forms of pre-test and post-test were oral test that contained 18 words that related with the focus sounds.The findings of the research showed that the students’ mean score of pre-test before treatment was 63.09%. While after treatment, the mean score of post-test was 86.81%. Therefore, the significant between pre-test and post-test was 37.59%. In order that, the researcher assumed that using tongue twister technique could improve students’ pronunciation correctly especially in pronouncing sound /ð/, /d/, /θ/, /t/, /ᶴ/, and /s/.
Era industry 4.0, especially in the field of education, emphasizes the use of digital technology and the internet which develops rapidly in the learning process. Online learning is one form of implementation of learning in industry 4.0 era. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the implementation of the learning system on the higher students’ academic achievement. This research is experimental research, with a pretest-posttest control group design. The purpose of this design is to reveal whether online learning systems can affect students' academic achievement or not that's measured through the learning outcomes of biology education students at the concept of structure and transport of cell membranes in the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar. Based on analyzed data, it shows the difference in the increase of students' learning outcomes taught by the online learning system and without using an online learning system. Based on the findings of this study, students who are taught by online learning system get a higher score of learning outcomes. It can be said that there is an effect of the online learning system toward students’ academic achievement.
This study aims to find out how the attitude of the North Sumatra Provincial KPU ASN in carrying out an attitude of integrity includes aspects of professionalism, neutrality and national insight in organizing the Election of Governor and Deputy Governor of North Sumatra in 2018. This study uses qualitative research with synchronous science that tries to pay attention to the interrelationships between phenomena Election of the Governor and Deputy Governor of North Sumatra Province in 2018 with national and global realities related to the development of democratic life through the General Election event and the performance of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) Secretariat of the Election Commission of the North Sumatra Province as the apparatus organizer in affection and cognition. The object of this research is ASN KPU North Sumatra Province's integrity and professionalism. While the subjects in this study consisted of 35 (thirty-five) staff in the General Election Commission (KPU). The conclusion of this research is the urgency of the research lies in improving the performance and professionalism of ASN, in a useful way, this research is useful to make the ASN figure as a civil service that is dedicated and provides maximum service to the general public. keywords: integrity; nationalism insight; professionalism Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana sikap ASN KPU Provinsi Sumatera Utara dalam menjalankan sikap integritas mencakup aspek profesionalisme, netralitas dan wawasan kebangsaan pada penyelenggaraan Pemilihan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur Sumatera Utara Tahun 2018. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan ilmu sinkronis yang mencoba memperhatikan keterkaitan antara fenomena lokal Pemlihan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur Provinsi Sumatera Utara tahun 2018 dengan realitas nasional maupun global terkait perkembangan kehidupaan demokrasi melalui ajang Pemilihan Umum dan kinerja Aparatur Sipil Negara (ASN) Sekretariat Komisi Pemilihan Umum Provinsi Sumatera Utara sebagai aparatur penyelenggara secara afeksi dan kognisi. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah integritas dan profesional ASN KPU Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Sedangkan subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari Staf di Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) sebanyak 35 (tiga puluh lima) orang. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah urgensi penelitian terletak pada peningkatan kinerja dan profesionalitas ASN, secara manfaat, penelitian ini bermanfaat untuk menjadikan sosok ASN sebagai aparatur sipil yang berdedikasi dan memberikan pelayanan maksimal kepada masyarakat umum. kata kunci : Integritas; wawasan kebangsaan; profesionalisme
This research aimed to find out the improvement of the students’ writing ability in term of grammar covering simple past tense and past continuous tense and vocabulary covering verb and noun, especially in recount text at the eighth-grade students of SMP Unismuh Makassar. The researcher used a classroom action research (CAR) which was conducted in two cycles where each cycle consisted of four meetings and the application consisted of four steps namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The technique of collecting data is writing test and observation and technique of data analysis is quantitative. The number of the research subject was 26 students in class VIIIB and all the students were male. The research findings indicated that using FAIES method could improve the students writing ability in terms of grammar and vocabulary. It was proved by the students’ mean score in the test of cycle II, the result was (75.25) which increased 15.15 % from the cycle I mean score (60.1). It was highly increased from a diagnostic test (D – test) mean score (48.2). The students’ achievement in cycle II indicated that it had met the researcher score target (75) where the classification of students’ score was 4 students got excellent score where the percentage was 15.4%, 11 students got good score where the percentage was 42.3%, 10 students got fair score where the percentage was 38.5% and 1 student got poor score where the percentage was 3.8%. Based on the findings of the research above, the researcher concluded that FAIES method were successful in improving the students’ writing ability covering grammar and vocabulary for recount text at the eighth-grade students of SMP Unismuh Makassar class VIIIB .Keyword: FAIES, develop, writing, ability
