Needs analysis plays an important role in the development ofa product to ensure that the product can meet the needs of consumers. The development of the E-Muhadatsah kit or Arabic conversation kit based on an android application is a self-communication platform among non-Arabic speakers in Malaysian Institutions of Higher Learning. This study aims to identify the need for developing the E-Muhadatsah kit among non-Arabic speakers at the tertiary level as well as to identify the level of interest in Arabic speaking, Arabic communication confidence, and students' willingness to communicate in Arabic. The assignment and exercise needs in improving students’ Arabic speaking or communication skills were also identified. A set of questionnaires was distributed to 214 respondents from universities in Malaysia namely UPM, UPSI, UniSZA, and UiTM. Then, the data obtained from the administration of the questionnaire were analyzed using SDSS version 25 software and interpreted based on the analysis of mean scores and standard deviations. Meanwhile, the open-ended questionnaire data were analyzed thematically. The results showed that respondents saw the development of the E-Muhadatsah kit as a great need for non-Arab students in higher education. In addition, the study also found that respondents showed a high interest in Arabic speaking, confidence in Arabic communication, and students' willingness to communicate in Arabic at a high level. Thus, this study proposes the development of a conversation-based Arabic language interactive multimedia kit to improve the communication proficiency of non-Arabic speakers, further able to help Arabic language educators to diversify multimedia-assisted teaching methods.
A healthy and fit soul is one of each individual's essential needs in order to interact with the environment and construct a better future. Since the beginning of 2019, the COVID-19 outbreak has spread rapidly worldwide. It has raised concerns and had negative consequences for soul and mental health. This is a serious problem for both individuals and society as a whole. This research tries to describe how mental and mental diseases were treated and dealt with during and after the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspective of the Qur'an and Sunnah as divine Revelations. Islam, being a religion concerned with the wellbeing of the ummah, has provided a teaching principle on how to manage and deal with various soul and mental diseases. This approach is one of the best alternatives that is expected to have a significant impact on achieving a healthy soul in the face of long-term pandemic challenges and conjectures. There are several methods promoted by Islam in treating soul and mental disorders, including; always maintain personal hygiene through taharah, reading or listening of the Quran, practicing halal and healthy eating, taubat (repentance) and istighfar, patience and fasting.
This study aims to analyze issues, issue writing patterns, and reflective writing in the PISMP trainee teacher practicum journal, at Tun Hussein Onn Campus Teacher Education Institute, Batu Pahat. This study involved a total of 40 journal reflection writings selected at random in 2019 for various options. Qualitative study through document analysis is used to analyze the reflective writing of trainee teachers. In this study, the data were obtained from the writing notes of the reflection journal of the trainee teacher during the practicum. The results show that the writing of trainee teacher issues is more focused on the student domain (18 issues), followed by students (15 issues) and pedagogy (1 issue). Students were found not to touch the school domain at all and there was writing the title of the issue presented in the practicum journal not clear the domain of the issue (6 issues). The findings of the study also show that 36 out of 40 journal writing titles are clearly written. This shows that only a small number of journal writing titles cannot be written clearly. These findings indicate that trainee teachers are less focused on school factors such as environment, basic facilities, and racial diversity in writing self-reflection. The practice of reflection through journal writing is a very important aspect of teacher training in motivating trainee teachers intrinsically to achieve professional development in the field of trainee teacher duties.
