Project’s cost is one of important components in project achievement. Because of the uniqueness of construction projects, cost estimation always differs from project to project. The rate of cost components always change over time make difficult to forecast the cost for the upcoming project. The cost component consists of many influencing variables where there is interrelationship each other affecting to the total project cost. This paper objective is to develop a cost prediction model to assist the project planners in cost estimation for future projects. System dynamic is one of the appropriate methods to analyse system behaviour with interrelationship referring to the historic data, so it is able to predict the future project. Developing the model, primary and secondary data are collected from previous studies, interview with the government planner and survey in Malang Regency. The model simulation is Brick work unit with its components. Data from last thirteen years are used to verify and validate the developed model by causal loop diagram as a basic method in system dynamic. The finding showed that the model is closed to real condition through the validation mechanism. The developed system is useful in decision making of budget planning based on work quantity.
Water spring (WS) conservation in the upstream area of Brantas River is intended to protect the potency of the main water spring in East Java Province that is being threatened. The threat occurred is caused by a lot of dry water springs, the lowering of river discharge in the dry season, the dam shallowness leading to the flood and the lack of water. Although the conservative activity has involved many agencies, a non-profit organization, local people and the higher education, the achievement rate is still low. The partial activities in the form of the pilot project, in the end, give priority to togetherness that is the establishment of village conservation. The variety of conservative village has been developed by many agencies in accord with the goal and its concept. For the recent time, the conservative village which has been established does not have any capability to take the roll as the pilot that led to the spirit of the other village society conservation. The physical condition variety of the river stream area and social society in upstream Brantas River influence the condition of the conservative village. Therefore, the research is done the research to find the formulation of conservative village condition in upstream Brantas which is conditioned to establish the conservative culture as the implementation of daily activity part. The evaluation result of middle-term village development planning by comparing the conservative need from the analysis shows that conservation has not become the important issue. Therefore it is suggested a regulation to compose village RPJM in order to pay attention to the rules of water spring resources conservation. Thus, composed village RPJM, if it is implemented, will improve the flow coefficient value without decreasing the importance of the other sector development.
This paper centers around the application of the collaborative strategy on first semester student of the Civil Engineering Department of ITN Malang who have problems in English. The use of collaborative strategic reading (CSR) was to help the students to improve their reading comprehension skill. This research was conducted (1) to know the response of the first semester student of civil engineering ITN Malang after using CSR method to improve their reading skill, and (2) to know the effect of CSR method towards their reading. CSR is a research-based instructional practice in teaching reading comprehension to enhance content area learning. It is the best way to teach reading comprehension with four strategies of CSR because students can learn in groups. Model of classroom action research developed by Kemmis &Mc Taggart (1999) was applied. Preceed with intial recoinnaisance step held before four steps of teaching (planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting) this research was conducted in two cycles, the first cycle to implement strategy add by reading comprehension test and second cycle to implement strategy. The data research obtained through observation and field notes during teaching-learning processes ended with reading tests. The finding showed that collaborative strategic reading improved students` reading comprehension skill.
The results of the observation conducted by the research team at the milk processing company in the waste, the phase of waste destruction through the stage of one of them is the disposal of milk from the bottle is still using the manual tool when the bottle hole and pour the milk fluid into the tub. The milk disposal time in the bottle can be optimised with ergonomic tool design process. The meaning of ergonomic design is the design of a tool that generates a working system using the size of Anthropometri, while the research is focused on ergonomic tool design that can be used by the operator with the effective efficient, safe and comfortable result. With the stage conducted by the research team was conducting surveys, study of literture, data collection, formulating problems, analyzing and outdoor that is targeted is optimal model design tool using size anthropometri with height of shoulders when standing along the 138.5 cm, reach of the fore hands 72cm, the range of the side hand of 71cm, the height of the elbow when standing 104 cm and the knee height when standing 49 cm by saving the discharge time by 37%.
