Between 1960 and 1970, 61 megaureters, in 34 patients, were operated. The condition is extremely serious, and its etiology is to be established before proceeding to reconstructive surgery. Best results are found in primary megaureter unaccompanied by reflux operated by the extravesical method of Gregoir.

Presentation of a statistic of 306 cases of primary congenital reflux operated by the extra-vesical procedure. Discussion of the indications for surgery and description of a few essential details in the operative technique. Analysis of the long-term results which are highly satisfactory as far as a delayed indication is not responsible for irreversible damage to the renal parenchyma.
