"REINFORCING PEACEFUL COMMUNITIES": The Study of Biblical and Theological Foundations for Conflict Resolution. Studi Landasan Biblis dan Teologis Untuk Membangun Komunitas Damai. Plurality which is considered as a nation's wealth, it also turns out to be the cause of the emergence of conflicts with nuances of ethnicity, race and religion. Unfortunately political elites often politicize issues based on ethnic and religious sentiments to gain power. They did not consider the serious effects that were caused as a result of the politicization of ethnic and religious issues. Horizontal conflicts with nuances of religion and ethnicity that have occurred in various regions in Indonesia, such as in Ambon, Poso, Kalimatan, are more often triggered by the politicization of religious and ethnic issues or initially the conflict is not caused by ethnic or religious problems, but often the conflict brought to the realm of religion so as to make the conflict increasingly enlarged and inevitable. This writing is an effort to explore the biblical and theological foundation for an effort to build a peaceful community post the conflict. This study uses hermeneutic studies and the library research methods by utilizing library resources both books and journals related to conflict resolution.
In the Reformation era, identity politics rose in Indonesia, resulting in ethnic and religious conflicts, religious fundamentalism and radicalism with an agenda to enforce Islamic Sharia, and a political maneuver in political contestation. This article discusses identity politics from Pancasila Democracy. This study uses a qualitative literature study method with a content analysis approach. This approach includes all analysis of the content of the text to conclude efforts to find the characteristics of the text objectively and systematically. The study results that the clash of ethnic, religious, and ideological-based identity politics has occurred since the beginning of the Independence of Indonesia. The feud arose because each group wanted to fight for its primordial identity politics to fill Indonesia, mainly nationalist and religious groups. The mechanism of transitional justice is categorized into formal and informal mechanisms. Formal mechanisms are generally understood as mechanisms implemented by state institutions or international bodies, usually using procedural justice and accountability standards. In contrast, informal mechanisms are not required to meet these standards and are carried out by a non-government or non-international body. In many transition countries, the informal mechanism is often only used as a complementary (not a primary) mechanism to the formal one. This study discusses the role of the informal mechanism initiated by the solidarity of victims of human rights violations (non-government organization) of Central Sulawesi, which succeeded in realizing restorative justice related to the 1965-1966 events in Palu. This research uses a qualitative case study method. This study found that informal mechanisms can play a primary role (not just complementary to formal mechanisms) in realizing restorative justice through truth-seeking, grassroots reconciliation, apology, forgiveness, and victim reparations.
