Students need to possess sensitivity to the environment in order to behave positively when they notice a problem and find the right solution. This study intends to investigate whether the PBHL model affects the environmental sensitivity of Social Science Education students on environmental issues and conservation materials. The quasi-experimental design of the pretest-posttest controlled group was used in this study. Students of the Social Science Education Department, Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Indonesia, were selected as research subjects using a purposive sampling technique. The research subjects were determined to consist of class D as the experimental class (29 students) and class B as the control class (29 students). Questionnaires with a Likert scale of 1 (strongly disagree) – 4 (strongly agree) were used in taking student environmental sensitivity data on environmental issues and conservation materials, totaling 28 items with indicators: knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Subsequently, the data were tested for normality and homogeneity and analyzed using an independent sample t-test. The results showed that the PBHL model had a significant effect on the environmental sensitivity of Social Science Education students on environmental issues and conservation materials ((p (0.009) α (0.05)). The average results of the sensitivity of the experimental class environment (N-Gain = 13.29) were higher than the control class (N-Gain = 8.75). This goal can be achieved through the syntax in the PBHL model. The suggestion for further research is that it is necessary to develop further by combining the PBHL model and interactive mobile learning media as a means for students to investigate and actualize problem-solving.
This study aims to increase the students' learning concentration through ice breaking. It employs classroom action research method conducted in Islamic Junior High School (MTs) Surya Buana Malang subjecting 86 students of class VIIA, VIIB, and VIIC. To measure the students' learning concentration, observation sheet is used. The research steps are (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The data of the students' concentration were analyzed by using the formula of frequency distribution. The research result in cycle 1 shows that students' ability refers to the category of Less Developing (LD) = 17%, Developing (D) = 33%, and Developed as Expected (DE) = 50%. In cycle 2, ice breaking for the students' concentration manages to reach the desired targets, which are LD = 10%, D = 23%, and DE = 67%. The cycle 1 and cycle 2 results show an increase in the number of students who are in the category of DE by 17%. Finally, it concludes that ice breaking can increase the students' learning concentration.
As the most populous Muslim country in the world, Indonesia needs to spend seven decades until finally enacted the Halal Product Assurance Law in 2014. There are mixed responses in welcoming this law. Many Muslims are incredibly pleased with this law, while others believe that this law would create social and economic problems, instead. Four years have lapsed and the law is still difficult to be implemented, since the state has produced none of the implementing regulations of the said law. Meanwhile, the National Agency for Halal Product Assurance is newly established in 2018. Therefore, the law on halal product assurance is really at stake. It seems that the state enacted it half-heartedly. This paper discusses the dynamic of regulating halal products in Indonesia, between spiritual needs and socio-economic challenges. Less Muslim argued that halal is not part of Islamic teaching, yet many people believe that halal product in Indonesia is not merely a religious issue but also a social, economic and even political issue. The methods for this research are both normative and qualitative. Data are collected mainly through documents, library materials, and field research. To sharpen the findings, comparative studies with Malaysia and Thailand were conducted. In the end, this research reveals the socio-economic dynamics of halal product regulation in Indonesia amid which is beyond religious issues. Keywords: halal product, Indonesia, regulation AbstrakSebagai negara dengan jumlah penduduk Muslim terbanyak di dunia, Indonesia memerlukan tujuh tahun proses pembentukan sebelum disahkannya Undang-Undang Jaminan Produk Halal pada tahun 2014. An election is a democratic process, which is both costly and cumbersome for anyone who wishes to participate. Existing practices, precisely in Indonesia, show that both political parties as well as candidates often need to raise funds to finance their campaign and/or their programs, as well as to ensure the sustainability of their political parties. The Indonesian law states various financial resources in which a political party can raise. Nevertheless, it does not set the limitations and restrictions, particularly on ways to identify and monitor where funds come from. Hence, there has been a fear that political parties may use this loophole to conduct money laundering. It is argued that while the money laundry regime can be used to prevent conspicuous practices related to political financing, a legal framework has yet to be designed and implemented.
The development of the Financial Technology (FinTech) Industry in Indonesia is very rapid. Financial Technology (FinTech) can generally be defined as an industry that combines technology and financial features as its business model. One of the advantages FinTech business is the speed and convenience for parties to conduct transactions. The speed and simplicity of transactions in the FinTech business are due to the use of technology in the financial services provided. Furthermore, the FinTech industry facilitates parties to conduct non-face-to-face transactions. The advantages offered by the FinTech industry raise concerns that this business could be used by criminals to commit money laundering crimes. This research tries to see the vital role of using Know Your Customer (KYC) customer principles which are carried out electronically to be applicable in preventing FinTech businesses from being used as a means of committing money laundering crimes.
