<p class="Default">Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) not only affects the physical condition but also impacts on psychological conditions, such as feeling down, embarrassed by appearance, feelings of worthlessness, anxiety, to despair which is the cause of decreased quality of life. In improving the quality of life requires a psychological intervention called Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). This study aims to seek the effects of MBCT interventions on improving the quality of life of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) with hemodialysis. Research participants were 3 people. This research was a case study research with a mixed method. Data analysis strategy used was a concurrent embedded strategy that compares quantitative and qualitative data. The result showed that MBCT interventions could improve participant’s quality of life. MBCT interventions provide the skills to be aware of clear thoughts, feelings, and events without assessing them so that patients can sort out the things that originate from their thoughts and distinguish them from actual events. This accomplishment of the result can be perceived from the arising of feeling more enjoy life and there is an increase in scores on each aspect of quality of life on the measurement scale used.</p>
Quality of life (QOL) and subjective well-being (SWB) among college students have been deemed as importantissues in studies. The present study aims to explore any influential elements of gender and age to their QOL andSWB, and to know if the QOL is influential to the SWB. Participants amounted to 651 respondents totally fromthree Indonesian universities (Diponegoro University, Padjajaran University, North Sumatra University) wereinvolved in a purposive sampling using two instruments, i.e., the Personal Wellbeing Index-Adult (PWI-A) tomeasure SWO and The World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) to measure QOL.Ordinal Logistic Regression (OLR) test was used in the analysis. The results showed that age and gender had asignificant effect on SWB (respectively .11 & .040, with p < .05) but had no effect on QOL of students(respectively .510 & .751, with p < .05). In addition, QOL was shown to affect SWB (p < .05). As a result,counselors and stakeholders on campus are encouraged to consider age and sex factors in their attempts ofincreasing college students’ SWB. However, further research is still suggestible to explore more complex factorsin college students’ QOL, which can include social, individual, and other demographic factors.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dinamika pembentukan identitas sosial pada kelompok geng motor Ghost Nightdi kota Pekanbaru. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif studi kasus. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga subjek yang tergabung dalam geng motor Ghost Night selama lima tahun. Setelah melakukan observasi, peneliti mengambil data lewat wawancara semi-terstruktur.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dinamika pembentukan identitas sosial setiap anggota geng motor Ghost Night dibentuk oleh otoritas geng atau ketua untuk kemudian terjadi identifikasi diikuti dengan menggunakan simbol tertentu sebagai bentuk komitmenidentitas social dalam kelompok geng motor Ghost Night terbentuk.Identitas sosial yang terbentuk setiap anggota kelompok geng motor Ghost Night dipertahankan kelompok dengan penciptaan rasa takut dengan otoritas dalam kelompok. Oleh sebab itu, setiap anggota geng motor Ghost Night tidak mempunyai keberanian untuk menolak perintah dan melanggar apa yang dikatakan oleh pemimpin kelompok. Ancaman dan hukuman secara fisik yang dilakukan oleh pemimpin kelompok adalah cara pemimpin kelompok membentuk kelompok geng motor Ghost Night.
