Islamic Real Estate Investment Trusts (I-REITs) have been established to enhance the Islamic Capital Market. Almost 10 years of establishment of I-REITs, it is interesting to study the performance of this Islamic property investment vehicle because it is a potential and unique asset class that not fully explored. This paper examines the risk-adjusted performance analysis and correlation analysis between I-REITs in a mixed asset portfolio. The time period of study is from November 2008 to December 2014. I-REITs were compare in a mixed asset portfolio consists of shares and bonds. The results show that I-REITs outperform both shares market and bonds market. While I-REITs give high diversification benefits for the share and bond investors with low correlation between I-REITs, shares and bonds.
Housing is described as one of the most universal concerns for a country's welfare that reflects people's perception of living standards. Every homebuyer must have their own natural preferences in buying a house. Apart from that, this study focused on housing affordability preferences for “Rumah Selangorku” Program. This research aims to rank the house buyers’ preferences elements for ‘Rumah Selangorku’ in specifically De Kiara Apartment, Shah Alam, Malaysia. This research also identifies the preferences elements for house buyers from the literature. The questionnaire survey has been distributed towards respondents which are the occupants of De Kiara Apartment, Shah Alam. Thus, the results indicated price at the first ranked followed by locality; design; space standard; and facilities and services.
The leaders and policymakers realize that our home planet has been endangered by our hands. The industrialization era had a severe impact on climate change; therefore, the infrastructure project should be friendly with the environment. The green Sukuk concept is ideal to help the Sukuk issuances tackle environmental issues as well as reduce Green House Gases (GHG) carbon emission. However, there are so many environmental issues that revolve in Malaysia besides the environmental project should be beneficial the most to the country (environmentally) and the people. This paper attempt to identify the current and unsolved environmental issues in Malaysia; the role of Green Sukuk (financially) to assist the environmentally friendly project; and strategy or initiatives that can be taken by the government to push the green Sukuk issuance to help the government to cope with the environmental issues as well as reduce climate change.
