The aim of this study was to examine the correlation between organizational commitment and performance in employees working from home in Surabaya. A quantitative descriptive approach was used. 151 participants were recruited through purposive sampling. All participants were employees with work domiciles in Surabaya who worked from home during the Covid-19 pandemic. Data were collected using questionnaires. The performance instrument was compiled based on the theory of Bernardin & Russel which consists of six aspects namely: (i) quality; (ii) quantity; (iii) timeliness; (iv) cost-effectiveness; (v) the need for supervision; and (vi) interpersonal impact. Meanwhile, the organizational commitment instrument was based on Mayer and Allen’s theory which consists of three aspects, namely: (i) affective; (ii) continuance; (iii) normative. Data were analyzed using Pearson Correlation. The results indicated that there was a significant positive relationship between organizational commitment and the performance of employees in Surabaya who worked from home during the Covid-19 pandemic. Abstrak: Semakin berkembangnya radikalisme beragama di tengah masyarakat menjadi ancaman bagi kesatuan bangsa Indonesia. Salah satu upaya strategis menangkal radikalisme beragama di Indonesia adalah melalui program pendidikan karakter di sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi pendidikan karakter semangat kebangsaan dan cinta tanah air di sekolah berlatar belakang islam di Kota Pasuruan. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif termasuk dalam jenis penelitian studi kasus. Subyek penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, para guru dan para siswa di beberapa sekolah berlatar belakang islam di Kota Pasuruan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa telah terdapat komitmen pada ketiga pimpinan sekolah yang berlatar belakang Islam di Kota Pasuruan untuk melaksanakan pendidikan karakter semangat kebangsaan dan cinta tanah air namun penyediaan sarana prasarana yang menunjang masih minim, evaluasi dan tindak lanjut keberhasilan pendidikan karakter juga masih belum dilaksanakan.Doi : http://dx.doi.org/10.17977/um023v6i12017p009
Teenagers try to develop their identity. Adolescents who fail to realize their identity may develop problematic behaviors. Technological developments have had a major impact, such as the emergence of new forms of bullying, namely cyberbullying carried out through electronic media. Juvenile delinquency such as cyberbullying can be influenced by several factors, including the lack of individual self-control. Individuals who have good self-control should be able to regulate their behavior in a more positive direction. This study aimed to determine whether there is a correlation between self-control and cyberbullying in Private High School X in Bogor. The study sample consisted of 95 students recruited through purposive sampling. The study employed a quantitative method with a Cyberbullying Scale comprised of 26 items with a 0.873 reliability, and a Self-Control Scale comprised of 22 items with a 0.853 reliability. Validity was evaluated by testing content with expert lecturers. Data were analyzed using the product-moment correlation technique. The study results produced an r of –0.465 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant negative correlation between self-control and cyberbullying in students at Private High School X in Bogor. This research aimed to determine the relationship between emotion regulation and assertiveness in students at Senior High School X Jember Regency. 154 students at Senior High School X Jember Regency participated in the study. Data were collected using an assertiveness scale and an emotion regulation scale. Pearson’s product moment correlation was used to analyze the data, which resulted in a correlation coefficient of 0.246 with a p-value of 0.002 (p < 0.05). The findings therefore indicated that there was a significant positive relationship between emotion regulation and assertiveness in students at Senior High School X Jember Regency. This study aims to (1) describe the “Guest Teacher” program in TK Laboratorium UM Malang, (2) analyze the efforts of the “Guest Teacher” program in PAUD learning, (3) and identify the factors inhibiting the activities of the Guest Teacher program. Respondents in this study were teachers and parents who participated in the Guest Teacher program. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, observation, and documentation. This research employs the descriptive qualitative approach. The research was conducted based on initial observations of teachers and parents in TK Laboratorium UM Malang. The results showed that the efforts that have been made with the Guest Teacher program for parents show that most parents have an awareness of the importance of their participation in children. With the implementation of the Guest Teacher program, it can foster parental participation in education and childcare. Parents raise awareness of their roles as supporters, teachers, students, advisors, protectors, and as inspirations for students. Keywords: guest teacher program, inspiration class, kindergarten
