The goal of every teacher is to make every learner understand and apply the lessons learned from the class, but, this goal may not be met if students themselves find it hard to understand the lessons in Mathematics. One of the ways to help the learners achieve success in learning is through the use of a strategic intervention material. Thus, this study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Strategic Intervention Material (SIM) in Integrated Mathematics 9 on Positive, Zero, and Negative Integral Exponents. It described further the significant difference on the level of performance of the seventy-seven (77) Grade 9 students under the two groups (control and experimental) in the pre and post-test. T-test was employed to test significant difference in the test results and the groups where they belong. It was concluded in the study that the strategic intervention materials gave a positive impact in mastering the least-learned competency identified as reflected in the post-test results of the two groups. Thus, the school may conduct training, programs and activities that will enhance more the skills of the teachers in crafting strategic intervention materials to aid the students' needs most especially on mastering the least learned competencies.
Education 4.0 is the desired learning strategy that coincides with the fourth industrial revolution. This study aimed to determine the extent of teachers' knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and instructional practices in the context of Education 4.0. A quantitative descriptive research design using a survey technique was employed. The participants of this study were the basic education teachers of St. Paul University Surigao. The main instrument used to solicit information is a five-part questionnaire adapted from Arpilleda and Mallillin (2020). The statistical tools used in this study were Frequency Count and Percentage Distribution, Mean and Standard Deviation, ANOVA, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. Findings revealed that the Basic Education Teachers of St. Paul University Surigao are fully aware of the nature of the fourth industrial revolution in education who possess a positive attitude towards its demands and accept its principles that the learners are at the center of the future ecosystem focusing on an innovative-producing education. The teacher's age, sex, length of service, and highest educational attainment affects their knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and instructional practices in the context of Education 4.0. It is recommended that the teachers strengthen their practice of teaching students to interpret data for them to apply their theoretical knowledge to numbers, as this was found to be the lowest indicator among the instructional practices.
A tracer study is required to determine how effectively a university has succeeded in terms of strengthening its students' abilities and preparing them for the workplace. This paper aimed to determine the employability of BSIT graduates from the academic years 2017-2019revealing their demographic profile, the relevance of the program to employability, analysis of variance on the relevance of skills, curricular structure, and competencies as perceived by the respondents, and recommendations for curricular enhancements to expand their competitiveness. The data was collected using a modified Graduate Tracer Study instrument, an informal interview was also conducted. The study employed a descriptive method. Frequency and percentages, weighted mean, and Anova were used to statistically treat data collected through a questionnaire created through Google forms from 52 respondents respectively. The findings revealed that the majority of the respondents came from batch 2018. Most of them are males, single and the age ranges from 20-24 years old. Likewise, the majority of the respondents were regularly employed and working full-time. The study further revealed that most of the graduate’s employment classification were Government Officials, IT clerk /Staff and IT Technical Support Specialist and Managing Proprietor or Supervisor under a private sector and the major line of Business were from IT, BPO/KPO, Academe and Small and Medium Enterprise. Moreover, the graduates also claimed that their skills, curricular structure, and competencies were very relevant to their present job and contributed greatly to their performance. Furthermore, the respondents perceived that there is a significant degree of variance among the 3 dimensions under the relevance of the program of study to the respondents’ employability. To further enhance the marketability of the BSIT program and the employability of the graduates, one of the recommendations is the periodic review of the curriculum by academic leaders, alumni, and industry representatives to guarantee that graduates have the knowledge and skills that are required in the sector.
