Utilizing Hoover-Dempsey and Sandler's (1995, 2005) theoretical framework on parental involvement, this study examined a cross-sectional sample of 516 parents of children in the first and fourth grade in municipal schools in Chile. The research sought to examine the association between parental motivational beliefs, parental perceptions of invitations for involvement, and parental perceived life context, and parental at-home and at-school involvement when controlling for child, parent, and household characteristics. Results from this study indicate that child invitations for involvement, parental sense of self-efficacy, income, and child's grade level are significantly associated with parental at home and at school involvement. Time and energy was also significantly associated with parental at school involvement. Understanding the importance of parental involvement as a protective factor in children's mental health, the article concludes with reflections on the findings for school-based mental health interventions. Specifically, the conclusions explore how to integrate family involvement initiatives and increase parental involvement, taking into account parental motivations for involvement in an international setting.

ABSTRACT This paper focuses on a refl ection on family ties-School in contexts of poverty, the analysis is guided by the assumption that this relationship can be positive or negative depending on the impact that has on children in their learning and the learning environment. The development of the analysis is given
Abstract. Due to the good mechanical properties of forged parts, the forging process plays a decisive role in the manufacturing of seamless stainless steel pipes for oil country tubular goods (OCTG) lines. Tough competition between manufacturers gives them plenty of incentive to make their processes in raw material and energy usage more and more efficient. In this context the expansion process is one of the critical production steps in the manufacturing of seamless stainless steel pipes. This work presents a sensitivity analysis of a finite element method (FEM) for the simulation of the expansion of the alloy UNS N08028. The input parameters ram speed, tool angle, initial ID and final ID of the billet as well as temperature were used to describe responses like tool wear and material loss. With the aim to minimize the tool wear and to reduce the material waste, a study of influence of the input parameters on the mentioned responses were performed. This development is supported by experimental work in order to validate the simulation model. The sector demand for new materials with specific properties and the cost-intensive experimental trials justifies the use of such simulation tools and opens great opportunities for the industry.
Palabras clave: cultura juvenil, cultura escolar, escuela, intervenciones socioeducativas.YOUTH CULTURE AND SCHOOL CULTURE. ANAPPROACH TO A COMPLEX RELATIONSHIP: TENSIONSAND CHALLENGESABSTRACT:This article focuses on analyzing the relationship between youth culture and school culture from the school context, for it develops a preliminary literature review, which allows us to understand the logic of both cultures. Finally identifying tensions and challenges this relationship poses especially for those working professionally in school settings. It concludes with a set of conclusions, which are intended to suggest some strategies for action with young people - school. Keywords: youth culture, school culture, school, social and educational interventions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
