All Lands of our country hosted to many civilizations. All civilizations that lived on these lands managed to show the works they inherited and their heritages in the social, cultural, and so many areas to the next generations in the most tangible states of them. Conserving and adopting the works showing the richness of Anatolia and being able to transfer them to the next generation in their original states are of our important duties. Turkey, due to cultural heritage it has, is in a position, in which there are intensive studies related to conserving, restoring, and documenting historical buildings. This study includes documentation-aimed photographic relief studies of Red Church (Kızıl Kilise), located in Sivrihisar village of the district Güzelyurt in the borders of the province Aksaray. As a result of the study, the scaled pictures of outer front, 3-dimensional model, and point clouds of Kızıl Kilise were obtained. Digital photogrammetry technique, together with the developing technology, is continuously renewing itself and presents many easiness and possibilities to us as time and cost by means of hardware and software.
Together with developments in software technology, various interpolation methods allow terrain surfaces to be better identified. The accuracy rate in volume calculations is directly proportional with representation in the best form. The non-metric cameras, which are assembled to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), provide convenience in the photogrammetric measurements. Sensitive images are obtained with less cost by the use of unmanned aerial vehicles. The purpose of this study was to take photos from the air with the help of UAVs and to make volume calculations by using photogrammetric techniques. At the end of the study, the photogrammetric method had been completed in a shorter period than with the traditional method. The values found as the result of both methods have been found to be compatible with each other in the ratio of 99.33% in terms of sensitivity.
Cultural heritages due to have different natural characteristics, have different sizes, and heir complicated structure should be measured and requires a more sophisticated measurement tools and techniques to documentation. One of them aerial photos taken by UAV pictures to use in architectural photogrammetry. In this study, Photogrammetric study was conducted in the ancient church next to the pothole. The study was completed with photographs taken from the air with UAV and close range photogrammetry. The images obtained from both methods adjusted in photogrammetric software and obtained a three-dimensional model of the church. Photography by UAV has proved to be a technical supporters of close range photogrammetry. Also coordinates of the reference points on the images obtained through photogrammetric software and compared with terrain coordinates. Point position accuracy of points mxyz = 2.1 cm were found. In order to protect the world heritage of cultural heritage IHA help to be sensitive enough to measure derived from aerial photographs taken, can be used as a base to work from different professional disciplines, The UAV was concluded in anywhere near the height can be used for photogrammetric.
Forming 3 dimensional models of the existing historical buildings and objects has a great importance in terms of conserving historical works, sustaining our history, and being able to transfer them to the next generations. For catching the fine geometrical views and details and digitally modelling, it is important to identify a suitable method. It is necessary to digitally record, document, and conserve our cultural assets due to still ongoing wars, natural disasters, and climatic changes. The simplest way for permanently storing the original form and location of historical works with high quality views and details in digital media, forming base for the different projects, and making ready for use, if necessary, is to model the works in 3 dimensions. Beginning from the increase of importance to historical works, in parallelism with this, the importance and sorts of documentation also have begun to increase. Among the existing documentation methods, the method that is suitable to work in metric (via measurement), visual (photographing) and digital (computerized) media and appropriate in terms of time, space, and cost is photogrammetry. In forming and documenting 3 dimensional model of Selime Sultan Tomb located near Ihlara Valley, two different kinds of software of photogrammetric assessment were used.
