The COVID-19 pandemic has proved one of the most devastating health crises of the 21st century. Due to this reason, many educational institutions were closed in order to save lives. This action can cause interruption in educational activities. Due to this issue, Online Distance Learning (ODL) have grown in popularity and is seen as an alternative method in higher educational setting. We are now moving towards a new normal life practices due to this global health crisis. Adapting to this new normal, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) continue their teaching and learning activities using Online Distance Learning (ODL) approach starting from 13 April 2020 until now. This research paper is conducted to conceptually propose the effective strategy to conduct online distance learning (ODL) in UiTM through the perspective of ODL interaction, motivation, students' performance and ICT and technology support system. This is due to the concern that going digital effectively requires substantial coordination by management and support from ICT service providers. Thus in order to develop ODL effectively, we must see our readiness to use an effective ODL approach as well as needs for robust curriculum pedagogical and methods. Educators must also know the students condition such as their motivation and ability to have good internet connection so that ODL can allows students to access lessons and interact with educators.
Game based learning has been used as a learning tool for centuries. This study proposes a development of game-based learning in Statistics subject. The game is a 2D prototype and the game is tested and adjusted to be more effective learning tool for learning. Statistics subject has been used for this study, known as a dreaded subject that causes many negative perceptions as students tend to think that learning Statistics is difficult. Premised on this concern, educators should create potential teaching and learning tool as a vector to challenges the perceived difficulty of learning statistics as well engage the learners and help educators access the learning. The aims of this study are to explore students' gain of using this teaching and learning tool in Statistics for classroom session and identify the factors affect their intention to use it. A total of 195 students were involved in this study using direct questionnaire and statistically observation through pre and post-test on their statistics test. It is reported that the tests of normality on the distribution for the pre marks with (KS=0.153, SW=0.960, p-value=0.00<0.05) and post marks with (KS=0.122, SW=0.969, p-value=0.00<0.005) both were significantly not normal. Thus, Wilcoxon signed ranks test shows that there is a difference in pre and post score test. This preliminary study shows that there is an improvement in score after students used this teaching and learning tool. Multiple linear regression analysis show that students' intentions to use is significantly influenced by perceived usefulness (t=2.781, p-value=0.000), perceived ease to use (t=5.949, p-value=0.000) and attitude towards innovation (t=8.545, p-value=0.000). In terms of importance, predictor attitude towards innovation made the largest contribution to the model (Standardized coefficient=0.457).
The concept of behavioural intention is one of interesting topics in marketing research. It becomes a crucial factor for companies to understand the underlying factors that create behavioural intention to purchase to stay relevance in the competitive market. However, with the revolution of technology that made mobile shopping become easier, thus, it limits the effort of consumers to visit brick and mortar store. The popularity of using mobile as shopping devices and the shopping activities can be conducted in anytime as well as anywhere and the mobile shopping is being used beyond expectations. Based on this reason, it is vital for marketers to identify the factors that influenced of behavioural intention on mobile shopping use of hijab fashion among Muslim women in Malaysia. Thus, the study investigates the factors influencing behavioural intention on mobile shopping use from the aspect of customer innovativeness, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use as well as perceived enjoyment. This paper serves an understanding on behavioural intention of hijab fashion consumers using the mobile shopping and provides as a fruitful insight to marketers to segment of the market. Lastly, the study provides a conceptual framework as a preliminary attempt which related to factors influencing behavioural intention on mobile shopping use among hijab fashion consumers in Malaysia.
The technology acceptance model (TAM) can be used to study the success of Online Distance Learning (ODL) as a teaching and learning approach. ODL became the only tool available due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which disrupted the learning process in Malaysia and the world over. ODL took the place of traditional classrooms and created new chances for students and teachers to interact and communicate. This study investigates students' acceptance of ODL as an acceptable learning approach among undergraduates in Malaysia. This research makes three contributions. First, this research may aid in determining whether learners or users prefer ODL. Second, this research will aid in identifying the characteristics that significantly influence the intention to use ODL. Third, this research also provides insights into whether variables like perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness impact ODL acceptance as a learning tool. The findings reveal that ODL was not a popular choice of learning approach among students. Although students had a positive perception of ODL, the student's attitude and intention to use ODL for future learning were lacking.
