This study aims to describe the self-efficacy of the first batch of students in the thesis preparation process and the factors that influence it. The subject of this qualitative research with a case study approach took the first 8 students of the 2018 batch of the Faculty of Economics and Social Affairs, Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani Yogyakarta who were selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected using interview, observation, and documentation methods and were analyzed using interactive techniques. The self-efficacy of the first batch of students in the thesis writing process is illustrated by the courage to face difficulties, immediately rise from failure, survive in the face of obstacles, are ready to face challenges in the future, and are able to motivate themselves in every situation. Past experience is the main factor that affects the self-efficacy of first-generation students in writing a thesis.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran self efficacy mahasiswa angkatan pertama dalam proses penyusunan skripsi dan faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Subjek penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus ini mengambil 8 mahasiswa angkatan pertama tahun 2018 Fakultas Ekonomi dan Sosial Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani Yogyakarta yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi serta dianalisis dengan teknik interaktif. Self efficacy mahasiswa angkatan pertama dalam proses penyusunan skripsi digambarkan dengan adanya keberanian menghadapi kesulitan, segera bangkit dari kegagalan, bertahan menghadapi hambatan, siap menghadapi tantangan di masa depan, dan mampu memotivasi diri disetiap keadaan. Pengalaman di masa lalu merupakan faktor utama yang mempengaruhi self efficacy mahasiswa angkatan pertama dalam menyusun skripsi. Penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan evaluasi tenaga pendidik terhadap perbaikan sistem akademik di suatu instansi pendidikan atau Program Studi yang masih baru khususnya pada program tugas akhir skripsi mahasiswa.
