This year we provide a list of the principal excavations carried out between September 1973 and December I974. The list includes the approximate date of each season, the name of the site, the name of the Director and the name of the sponsoring Institution.' Those excavations that are described in greater detail below are marked with an asterisk. There are in addition three reports of surveys carried out in 1973-74: in the Hulailan valley, in the Kangavar valley and in the Khana Mirza plain.
