Recently having increased every year, in 2017, e-learning’s worldwide average growth rate was 7.9% with a worldwide market of USD 52.5 billion. Holding all nations’ eighth highest e-learning growth rate, Indonesia had a market of USD 12.2 billion, with a growth rate of 25% in 2017. Obviously, Indonesia has great potential to develop a greater, even more prospective e-learning business. In fact, the Republic of Indonesia’s Minister of Education and Culture plans to make e-learning permanent by changing traditional into hybrid learning, including at the primary school level. Consequently, this study recommended strategies for increasing “continuance intention” for e-learning in primary schools. A conceptual model was developed based on the Expectation-Confirmation Model of Information System Continuance and the Information System Success Model. The study’s model development involved 195 teacher-respondents and used the partial least squares structural equation modeling for data analysis. Four of 11 hypotheses were rejected because they did not meet the requirements, but based on other results, 10 strategic recommendations were submitted to and assessed by several experts who used the integrated method of Importance-Performance Analysis and Kano to select four strategies selected as improvement priorities and three as keep-up-the-good-work priorities.
New product development (NPD) is essential for large, as well as small and medium, enterprises (SMEs). Despite its importance for the economy, challenges remain in the NPD in SMEs. Product success is related with the NPD process, so it is important for SMEs to be able to design their NPD process. This paper aims to identify SME’s NPD research topics, the characteristics of the NPD process in SMEs, and important aspects to be considered for NPD process design. The literature review is done with the analysis of 99 selected academic articles from Scopus and ScienceDirect. Content analysis, bibliographic analysis, and clustering method (based on Pearson’s correlation coefficient) are used to conduct the identification. Less-formal processes, informal strategic planning, limited resources, need technology support, and lack of capabilities in certain fields are some of the characteristics of SME’s NPD. Collaborative product development, competitive advantage, information and communication technology (ICT), concurrent engineering, quality function deployment, and continuous improvement are important keywords based on previous research in SME’s NPD. Design activities in NPD, collaboration and source of innovation, and process modelling, tools, and techniques appear to be important aspects related with the SME’s NPD process.
Indonesia as one of developing countries has started to slowly implement self-service technology to its public transportation services which are e-ticketing and e-gate. Regardless of the public’s enthusiasm for these self-service technologies implemented, users’ complaints regarding the services implies the importance to redesign services that are focused on user satisfaction. This study attempts to result a design recommendation method for self-service technology based public transportation service to improve customer satisfaction by integrating SSTQual method, Kano Model, QFD and service blueprinting. Result shows that there are 12 service attributes belong to attractive category which need to be prioritized in increasing customer satisfaction. 12 attributes are then translated into technical requirements to obtain innovations to be used in the service blueprint. Through this research, there are 10 technical requirements which need to be applied to improve customer satisfaction. The technical requirements are then detailed in operational actions to be mapped in the service blueprint.
PurposeOne of the main challenges of organisations today is how to navigate their development into ideal sustainable organisations. However, each readiness level requires a different rubric of indicators. Therefore, this study develops a corporate sustainability maturity model (CSMM), which can be used by organisations to conduct self-assessments, identify their current sustainability maturity levels and transition into mature sustainable organisations.Design/methodology/approachThis CSMM comprises various maturity domains, sub-domains and levels as well as a rubric of indicators for assessing the maturity of corporate sustainability. In its development, a systematic literature review examined existing maturity models, after which a pilot study, based on the literature review, content analysis and expert interviews, was used to create a prototype of the CSSM. Finally, the model was refined and expanded by considering practitioners' feedback and the tendencies of other sustainability maturity models.FindingsOn the basis of the findings, some Indonesian organisations conducted sustainability activities, without having a strategic plan. Moreover, the factors driving organisations to conduct sustainability efforts included external and internal pressure. However, typical factors, such as awareness of sustainability and organisational reputation gained from conducting sustainability activities, were insignificant in the sample.Originality/valueThis CSMM is the first sustainability maturity model developed for readiness assessment in an Indonesian context. Through this CSMM, organisations can determine their current readiness level of sustainability maturity and choose the correct indicators to help improve each sustainability domain in the matrix.
