Mahakam Delta is not only utilized for fishery activities but also for several industrial purposes such as coal and oil mining, shipping and timber. The objective of this paper is to provide information in term of the potency of Mahakam Delta located in East Kalimantan province, Indonesia. The study was conducted in Mahakam Delta, East Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. Participatory rural appraisal is a group of methods to collect information in a participatory fashion from rural communities. The method employed in this research was descriptive analysis describing the environmental potency found in Mahakam Delta. Massive conversion of mangrove forest particularly Nypa (Nypa fruticans) area into pond has driven conflict among related stakeholders on the utilization of natural resource and land which subsequently impacts on the fish and shrimp source regeneration, loss of ecological functions of mangrove forest for feeding, nursery and spawning ground of fish and other organisms. Besides of fisheries, oil and gas activity also exists in Mahakam Delta. Mahakam Delta is regarded as important area due to the largest producer of oil and gas mining. Thus, oil and gas industry is the most reliable sector that contributes to the economic development of Kutai Kartanegara district. As a resource provider, Mahakam Delta ecosystem provides various resources for livelihoods. As a life-support service provider, Mahakam Delta ecosystem provides habitat and ideal environment to support variety of living kinds. As a convenience provider, Mahakam Delta ecosystem provides unique and interesting recreation site. As a protector from natural disaster, Mahakam Delta ecosystem is able to protect human kinds from natural disaster threatening coastal area.
<p class="Abstract">Pembangunan wilayah pesisir berkembang dengan pesat seiring dengan pertumbuhan penduduk yang cukup tinggi akan mengancam kelangsungan kawasan dan ekosistem pesisir. Kawasan mangrove yang berada di wilayah pesisir di teluk Kotania menjadi kawasan yang mendapat tekanan secara ekologis yang sangat mempengaruhi kelestariannya. Kesadaran masyarakat pesisir sangat penting dalam upaya pelestarian kawasan mangrove. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan kawasan mangrove secara berkesinambungan dan lestari. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian survei pada lima dusun di teluk Kotania dengan metode deskritif yang bersifat studi kasus dan pembagian persepsi atas sepuluh kategori penilaian, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi dan didukung oleh data sekunder. Deskripsi penelitian ini dengan memfokuskan pada persepsi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan kawasan mangrove teluk Kotania. Analisa data digunakan pendekatan secara deskritif kualitatif yang menggunakan rataan skor dengan rentang skala.Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa sebahagian besar masyarakat pesisir di teluk Kotania sangat setuju bahwa; 1) Kawasan mangrove di Teluk Kotania saat ini perlu/penting untuk dikelola agar dapat lestari, 2) Bentuk pengelolaan kawasan mangrove yang dilakukan harus melibatkan seluruh penduduk setempat, 3) Perlu adanya kerjasama antara pemerintah dan masyarakat setempat dalam kegiatan pengelolaan kawasan mangrove.<strong> </strong></p>
Climate change is powerful on the growth of mangrove.The adaptation to climate change is an urgent need to minimize the impact of climate change.This study attempts to assess the impact of climate change on mangrove growth and formulating a program community adaptation to climate change the ecological, economic indicators, social and cultural community. The analysis survey was conducted qualitatively and analysis image Data Lansat ETM 8. The analysis shows climate change influenced the growth mangrove. The community adaptation to be applied is giving the use of a catch environmentally friendly, diversification of fruit trees. Other alternative business the fish and seaweed and participation in supporting the government programs.The adaptation others are cooperation between the government and the community in an effort to reforestation and rehabilitision. Tradition sasi mangrove came to watch to preserve the ecosystem mangrove.
Budidaya bandeng sebagai bahan baku berbagai olahan perlu didukung dengan teknologi yang intensif. Peningkatan kualitas nutrisi bandeng diperlukan untuk memperoleh bahan baku yang tidak hanya banyak tetapi juga bernutrisi. Penambahan probiotik ke dalam pakan bandeng dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pakan agar pakan lebih mudah dicerna dan enzim dapat bekerja lebih efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan probiotik terhadap pertumbuhan, efisiensi pakan, tingkat kelulushidupan dan nilai nutrisi ikan bandeng. Bahan yang digunakan adalah ikan bandeng dengan berat rata-rata 102±2,58 g, pakan bandeng komersil dengan kandungan protein 30% dan probiotik dengan komposisi jamur Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Aspergillus oryzae, bakteri Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bacillus subtilis, Rhodopseudomonas, Actinomycetes dan Nitrobacter. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan dua perlakuan dan 5 kali ulangan. Analisis data menggunakan uji t untuk membandingkan budidaya ikan bandeng perlakuan A yaitu tanpa penggunaan probiotik dalam pakan dan perlakuan B yaitu dengan penggunaan probiotik dalam pakan. Hasil uji t menunjukkan penggunaan probiotik pada pakan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) pada pertumbuhan, efisiensi pakan dan nilai nutrisi namun tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) pada tingkat kelulushidupan ikan bandeng. Penggunaan probiotik pada pakan bandeng memberikan nilai RGR (1.958±0.02%/hari), nilai EPP (78.333±0.745%), kandungan protein (25.794±0.600%) lebih tinggi dan FCR (1.321±0.030) yang lebih baik dari perlakuan tanpa penggunaan probiotik dalam pakan bandeng. Milkfish culture as main raw materia for various processed food needs intensive technology support. Improvement in milkfish nutrition quality is necessary to obtain many raw nutritious materials.The addition of probiotics to milkfish feed is able to improve feed efficiency. Thus, the feed is easier to digest and the enzymes can work more effectively. This study aims to find out the effect of probiotic use on the growth, feed efficiency, survival rate and nutritional value of milkfish. The materials used in thi study were milkfish with an average weight of 102 ± 2.58 g, commercial milkfish feed with 30% protein content and probiotics composed of fungus Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Aspergillus oryzae, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bacillus subtilis, Rhodopseudomonas, Actinomycetes and Nitrobacter. The study was conducted using an experimental method with a randomized block design with two treatments and 5 repetitions. Data analysis was conducted using T test to compare milkfish culture treatment A,i.e. without the use of probiotics in feed and treatment B by using probiotics in feed. The results of the t test showed that the use of probiotics in feed had a significant effect (P <0.05) on growth, feed efficiency and nutritional value but had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the level of milkfish survival capability. The use of probiotics in milkfish feed resulted in RGR value (1.958 ± 0.02% / day), EPP value (78.333 ± 0.745%),higher protein content (25.794 ± 0.600%) and FCR (1.321 ± 0.030) which was better than the treatment without the us of probiotics in milkfish feed.
