Indonesia has been known to have diverse ethnic, cultural, religious, belief, linguistic, customs, and local wisdom with a wealth of values and meanings in each region. The Tanimbar area of West Southeast Maluku regency, Maluku Province also has local wisdom that has been passed down from generation to generation i.e. Ikat Weaving Fabrics, better known as "Tanimbar Fabrics." This study aims to discover the symbolic and social meaning behind Ikat Tanimbar Weaving Fabrics. The method used is descriptive qualitative with ethnography approach and sociology method with social fact paradigm approach. The results of this study illustrate that Tanimbar fabrics are usually inherited through the life skills or skills of a mother to her daughter by looking at her mother's way of weaving every day, which is done manually (traditionally). This weaving work has become a culture and has certain meanings in the life of the Tanimbar community. The manifestation of these meanings is seen in the social structure of the Tanimbar society that positions women to high social status. Also, Tanimbar fabrics are not only used as clothing and activities on certain custom occasions but also as a customary item for newlyweds, as well as goods or objects of honor or reward for the family (kin) if they die.
Inspection of Universities infringement (PT) is one of Controlling, Supervising and Guidance (dalwasbin) activities aimed at developing problematic universities in order to be back on track and able to run Tri Dharma of Higher Education in accordance with National Standard of Higher Education. Based on the results of evaluation and inspection of Higher Education in 2017 at Coordination of Private Higher Education Region XIV there found 29 Universities out of 61 Universities that committed violations. Management of infringement inspection of Higher Education requires the role of information technology due to the geographic area of the Higher Education and management of Higher Education inspection that is still manual causing management to be ineffective and inefficient. Coordination of Private Higher Education Region XIV requires an information system that can support and assist data of infringement in universities and management of universities inspection. The design of information system in this research used waterfall method. The design of system models used unified modeling language diagrams (UML) including use case diagrams and activity diagrams. The design of this information system generated a system that can support the management of integrated and centralized infringement inspection to facilitate the inspection, monitoring and reporting of inputs and information for Coordination of Private Higher Education and the ministry in mapping the institutional quality Higher Education.
A researcher is said to be productive after publishing their findings. The analysis of the Science and Technology Index portal, called SINTA, shows the productivity of researches of private higher education institutions lecturers in Kopertis Region XII Maluku and North Maluku is still very low. The ranking of private higher education institutions in Kopertis Region XII compared with other universities in Indonesia further strengthens the opinion. This research aimed to determine the factors influencing the research productivity of private higher education institutions lecturers in Kopertis Region XII. The method used was an online survey on 155 samples of lecturers in Maluku and North Maluku. The data obtained were analyzed statistically descriptive. The results showed that research productivity is influenced by individual and institutional factors. Individually, the biggest driving factor is the perception of the function and benefits of research for human life, while the smallest one is the desires to be famous and financial benefits. The biggest inhibiting factor is the limited cost of research and publication, while the smallest is the motivation to research and publish. Institutionally, library facilities are deemed inadequate, thus contributing less to the increase of research productivity.
Pemulung merupakan bagian dari komunitas miskin perkotaan yang aktivitas kesehariannya pada sektor informal dengan melakukan pengumpulan barang bekas untuk dijual demi memperoleh pendapatan. Pemulung tidak memerlukan persyaratan formal dan pekerjaannya mudah untuk dilakukan, namun penuh tantangan dan risiko. Pekerjaan pemulung merupakan tantangan hidup yang mesti dilakukan karena kondisi kemiskinan dan mengantisipasi pendapatan rumah tangga. Secara administrasi Kota Ambon memiliki 5 kecamatan yakni Kecamatan Teluk Ambon Baguala, Sirimau, Nusaniwe, Teluk Ambon, dan Leitimur Selatan. Tulisan penelitian ini untuk menggambarkan faktor penyebab kemiskinan menurut komunitas miskin pemulung, mengetahui faktor ketidaktahuan tentang manajemen keuangan rumah tangga komunitas miskin pemulung, dan merumuskan strategi pengentasan kemiskinan perkotaan yang efektif. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data; observasi, wawancara, dan angket. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil yang dicapai berdasarkan karakteristik pemulung, dengan tingkat pendapatan yang rendah, standart rumah tidak layak huni, derajat kesehatan rendah, pendidikan dan pengetahuan yang minim sehingga mengakibatkan ketidakmampuan dalam mengelola keuangan rumah tangga dengan baik. Hal ini mengakibatkan mereka nyaris tidak memiliki perencanaan untuk masa depan keluarga termasuk pendidikan anak-anak.
The purpose of this research was to illustrate the underlying causes of poverty by poor scavenger communities, to know the factors of ignorance about the financial management of households of poor scavenger communities, and to formulate effective urban poverty reduction strategies. This research was conducted on 4 districts: Sirimau, Nusaniwe, Baguala, and South Leitimur, because scavengers are spread all over the districts. The method used was descriptive quantitative, with data collection techniques of observation, interview, and questionnaire. The data was analyzed using descriptive method. The results were obtained based on the characteristics of scavengers, with low income levels, unhygienic home standards, low health status, minimum education and knowledge resulting in an inability to manage household finances well. This resulted in the scavengers barely having a plan for the family's future including children's education.
