<p>Hari Prabangsa Nasional with hashtag (#) symbol had took over twitter during early February 2019. This trending topic was popularized by AJI Indonesia to protest against the government’s policy that has the possibility of threatening the press freedom. Prabangsa is the name of a journalist that was murdered by I Nyoman Susrama. This movement arised because of the policy to grant remission to the murderer. Hari Prabangsa Nasional or shortened as HPN has the similar abbreviation to Hari Pers Nasional (HPN). The aim of this research is to understand how Twitter as social media is employed as the new form of the press freedom protest. This research will be analyzed by The Logic of Connective Action Theory by Bennett and Segerberg . The Logic of Connective Action Theory argues for a more expansive path to concerted actions through the selfmotivated sharing of personalized content on social media. This research uses the Critical Discourse Analysis Method. This method will analyze the phenomenon from three different levels, such as the producer of social movement, the twitter text and the consumer of the social movement. The merit of this research is to add depiction that social media is effective way for conducting a social movement. The finding shows that to employ the Twitter for such movement, offline and online combination are still needed.</p>
City branding is an effort to build a particular image of a city. Semarang is one of Indonesia’s big cities that has not yet succeeded in finding the right brand to represent it. The researcher has conducted a pilot research study that aims to build Semarang’s city branding as The Cinematic City. It is due to Semarang’s background of often becoming a shoot location for famous movies. South Korea is well known because of its pop cultures, such as drama. Drama is one of the main factors that contribute to the increasing number of foreign visitors. They mostly visit popular drama shooting locations as their destinations. These kinds of tourism site are successful at developing emotional branding in the visitor’s minds. Looking at the similarity of South Korea and Semarang will help Semarang to learn a lot from what South Korea has done. This research aims to analyse how emotional branding represented through the Korean drama-based tourism site gimmicks. This research used the Emotional Branding theory by Marc Gobe. It assumed that emotional bonding is an essential thing in terms of engaging the customer and product in a particular phase. The main subjects of this research are the gimmicks in Nami Island. The result shows that the Relationship Aspect fulfilled by changing the theme and properties according to the season. For the Five Senses Experience, it only employs the sense of sight and touch by creating many gimmicks that can be a photo-taking hot spot. The Imagination aspect fulfilled by the unique design of the Emotional Identity put forward, such as the snowman.
Indonesia dan Malaysia, dua negara yang memiliki hubungan unik yang terlihat dari letaknya yang berdekatan, hubungan kerjasama yang dilakukan bahkan hingga polemik dari sisi kebudayaan hingga ketenagakerjaan yang menimbulkan sensitifitas bagi kedua negara ini. Dari tahun 2009 hingga saat ini masih banyak kasus pelecehan hingga pembunuhan sadis para TKI (tenaga kerja Indonesia) yang bekerja di Malaysia. Hal ini merupakan salah satu dampak dari politik Migrasi TKI Ke Malaysia. Migrasi sendiri merupakan penyaluran tenaga kerja di daerah ke sektor industri modern di kota yang daya serapnya tinggi. Konsep migrasi internal ini juga berlaku secara eksternal yaitu pengiriman tenaga kerja ke luar negeri. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, Malaysia merupakan negara penerima TKI sektor informal terbesar dibandingkan dengan negara-negara lainnya. Pencitraan merupakan gambaran yang mewakili suatu negara dalam bentuk visualisasi, termasuk iklan. Terdapat dua iklan yang berisi tentang TKI dan jelas �menginjak� harga diri bangsa Indonesia di tahun 2012 dan 2015. Iklan pada tahun 2012 berisi tentang diskon besar- besaran bagi mereka yang mau mempekerjakan TKI dan iklan pada tahun 2015 berisi permintaan bagi para majikan untuk memecat TKI dirumah mereka. Dari dua iklan yang muncul ini, maka penulis akan melakukan kajian teoritis yang menelaah mengenai refleksi citra Indonesia sebagai dampak dari politik migrasi TKI ke Malaysia. This research is a study of a self – help book, titled Act Like a Lady Think Like a Man by Steve Harvey. It is a best seller book and was adapted into a movie titled Think Like a Man. Problem arises because the book contains of masculine dominance while its main reades are women. Masculine domination in the romantic relationship can potentially cause harm such as male violence against women. This study aimed to describe the framing of masculine domination in this book and explained the background of the dominant ideology behind it. The analyzes were performed by critical paradigm and Robert Entman’s framing method. Muted Group Theory is used as a theory that explains the influence phenomenon of patriarchal ideology and book Act Like a Lady Think Like a Man to romantic relationship. The result shows the presence of masculine dominance in the terms of think and act in every chapter of the book and even though feminine – feminine value was found, it couldn’t speak out loud because it was built under the concept of patriarchy.Keywords: Domination, Masculine, Patriarchy, Gender, Self-Help ABSTRAKPenelitian ini merupakan kajian yang dilakukan pada buku teks populer jenis self – help karya Steve Harvey berjudul Act Like a Lady Think Like a Man. Persoalan muncul karena buku ini mengandung dominasi maskulin dengan pembaca utamanya adalah wanita. Dominasi maskulin dalam romantic relationship dapat membahayakan karena berpotensi menimbulkan kekerasan pria terhadap wanita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembingkaian dominasi maskulin dalam buku Act Like a Lady Think Like a Man dan menjelaskan latar belakang ideologi dominan di baliknya. Analisa dilakukan dengan paradigma kritis dan menggunakan metode framing milik Robert Entman. Muted Group Theory digunakan sebagai teori yang menjelaskan fenomena pengaruh ideologi patriarki dan buku Act Like a Lady Think Like a Man dalam romantic relationship. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan pengaruh ideologi patriarki dan adanya dominasi cara berpikir dan bertindak secara maskulin dalam paparan setiab bab buku Act Like a Lady Think Like a Man, meskipun muncul juga paparan feminin – feminin namun ternyata masih terpoles dalam konsep patriarki.
