This research examines the effect of innovative capability, knowledge management and intellectual capital (intangible assets) on competitive advantage and firm performance (studies on budget accommodation in Semarang). The increasing number of hotels in Semarang city is an intriguing phenomenon; considering the background of the city itself for its lack of fame on its tourism business. However, it does not hinder investors’ intention to keep opening their businesses in the area of accommodation services. The results of the pre-research interview stated that the increasing competition made the occupancy level troubling for the accommodating service entrepreneurs, both budget accommodation and standard and upper-class hotels. This research processed 50 samples consisting of 1 - 3 star hotels, budget hotels (non-star ones) and guesthouses. The data collection method was collected by spreading out questionnaire form to the respondents. Furthermore, the data was processed using analysis tool known as Partial Least Square (PLS). This study concludes that innovative capability, knowledge management, and intellectual capital which are part of the intangible assets of the firm have a positive effect on competitive advantage. Furthermore, competitive advantage also has a positive influence on firm performance. This study provides managerial implications that budget accommodation service entrepreneurs are able to improve their competitive advantage and firm performance through understanding and managing their intangible assets. Keywords: firm performance, competitive advantage, innovative capability, knowledge management, intellectual capital.
In order to develop a relationship, Islam has several values that must be obeyed by its believers. Indonesia as a country with the largest Moslem population in the world must aware the relational values based on Islamic teachings. In this research, there are four variables used Islamic Relationship Value, Relationship Quality, Adaptive Selling, and Salesforce Performance. Six hypotheses are built in this research to show that the Islamic relationship value has significant impact to Adaptive Selling, Islamic Relationship Value has significant impact to Relationship Quality, the Islamic relationship value has significant impact to salesforce performance, the relationship quality has significant impact to salesforce performance, and the adaptive selling does not have significant impact to salesforce performance. The analytical tools in this research employ Stuctured Eqution Modelling by using SPSS 22 and AMOS 22 software. There are 250 salesforces who are observed by using purposive sampling. The result in this research will give an innovation to marketing studies. The novelty of this research explains the Islamic Relationship Value as a new wave in marketing studies.

The aim of this paper is to explore the perception of innovation within Indonesian SMEs in the woodfurniture industry in Central Java, Indonesia. Qualitative research was employed by interviewing SMEs managers/owners. The study showed that SMEs' perception of innovation was not necessarily related to 'newness' or 'novelty' as suggested by some scholars. The innovation carried out by the majority of SMEs in this study is likely to be considered as incremental innovation. The characteristics of the wood-furniture industry and SMEs are believed to contribute to the different perspectives concerning innovation than those reported in the literature. Even so, they are unlikely to prevent Indonesian SMEs to become entrepreneurial and competitive firms.
Abstract. This research has applied an integrated design and development of planning information system, which is been designed using Enterprise Architecture Planning. Frequent discrepancy between planning and realization of the budget that has been made, resulted in ineffective planning, is one of the reason for doing this research. The design using EAP aims to keep development aligned and in line with the strategic direction of the organization. In the practice, EAP is carried out in several stages of the planning initiation, identification and definition of business functions, proceeded with architectural design and EA implementation plan that has been built. In addition to the design of the Enterprise Architecture, this research carried out the implementation, and was tested by several methods of black box and white box. Black box testing method is used to test the fundamental aspects of the software, tested by two kinds of testing, first is using User Acceptance Testing and the second is using software functionality testing. White box testing method is used to test the effectiveness of the code in the software, tested using unit testing. Tests conducted using white box and black box on the integrated planning information system, is declared successful. Success in the software testing can not be ascertained if the software built has not shown any distinction from prior circumstance to the development of this integrated planning information system. For ensuring the success of this system implementation, the authors test consistency between the planning of data and the realization of prior-use of the information system, until after-use information system. This consistency test is done by reducing the time data of the planning and realization time. From the tabulated data, the planning information system that has been built reduces the difference between the planning time and the realization time, in which indicates that the planning information system can motivate the planner unit in realizing the budget that has been designed. It also proves that the value chain of the information planning system has brought implications for budget realization.
