The experimental data of 12 C(p, p )(p, n) in the low-energy region ( 80 MeV) were analysed using M3Y effective interaction and Halderson's effective interaction in the theoretical frame of distorted wave Born approximation. By comparing the calculation results of the two effective interactions, it was observed that the isovector spin-dependent central part V σ τ and the isovector tensor-exchange part V T τE of Halderson's effective interaction are appropriate for describing the experimental data. This analysis also suggests that the isoscalar tensor-exchange part V T OE of Halderson's effective interaction should be substantially reduced to obtain agreement with the experimental ratio of cross sections 12 C(p, p ) 12 C [dσ/d (1 + , T = 0)]/[dσ/d (1 + , T = 1)] at zero degree, and this reduction did not change the good agreement with experimental data for excitation of the (1 + , T = 1) state.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
