This article wants to explain that the Coronavirus Disease or COVID-19 pandemic disrupts the structure of family life. Since the government suppressed physical distancing, it indirectly allowed almost 24 hours to be at home. The COVID-19 pandemic greatly tested family resilience. Positively, the impact of independent quarantine gives time to get to know each other deeply among family members. On the other hand, the more often family members meet increases boredom, which then causes friction to occur. This paper writes how the family communication management strategy when Pandemic COVID-19 to create a harmonious and prosperous family, conduct interpersonal communication, responsibility for the environment and family, intensity and direction of communication with a harmonious atmosphere, healthy parenting even in a physical atmosphere distancing or guarding the distance according to government recommendations. Sejak pemerintah menekannya physical distancing atau penjagaan jarak secara tidak langsung memberikan waktu nyaris 24 jam berada di rumah. Pandemi COVID-19 sangat menguji ketahanan keluarga. Secara positif, dampak karantina mandiri memberi waktu untuk saling mengenal secara mendalam antar anggota keluarga. Disisi lain, semakin sering anggota keluarga bertemu meningkatkan rasa jenuh yang kemudian menimbulkan gesekan terjadi. Tulisan ini menulis bagaimana strategi manajemen komunikasi keluarga saat Pandemi COVID-19 sehingga tercipta keluarga yang harmonis dan sejahtera, melakukan komunikasi antar pribadi, tanggung jawab pada lingkungan dan keluarga, intensitas dan arah komunikasi dengan atmosfir yang harmonis, pola asuh hidup sehat walaupun dalam suasana physical distancing atau penjagaan jarak sesuai anjuran pemerintah. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected many sectors, especially the health and economic aspects. On the bright side, the potential for social solidarity in the community has been increased. New media technology becomes an oasis in the midst of anxiety when people are forced to distance themselves or carrying out social distancing. Net citizens are using new media technology to raise solidarity and appeal to prevent the spread of COVID-19 from various campaigns on social media. This research aimed to study social movements to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and employed a qualitative approach using content analysis. The results showed that the pandemic triggered the public to take advantage of various social media platforms by creating content about public education and campaigning to raise funds or crowdfunding. It is as if a blessing in disguise when this disaster resulted in the value of collaborative work or gotong-royong that comes from Pancasila, which characterizes the nation’s values so that people are motivated to remind each other to maintain health and also help others to ease the burden of those affected. The analysis of the study by the researchers revealed that public figures dominated this solidarity movement.
This study aimed to analyze life survival strategy, social networks, and social capital measured from the networks, faith, and norms of Minangkabau Woman Street Vendor during the COVID-19 pandemic in the tourism destination area of West Sumatra. This research uses a mixed method. This research had a post-positivistic paradigm with the research locations in the tourist destination areas such as Padang City, Bukittinggi City, Sawahlunto City, and Tanah Datar Regency. The results showed that women street vendors performed life survival in tourism destination areas by strengthening social capital and human capital for a better economy.
The study is devoted to the discussion of symbols and signs in the Topeng Malangan puppet mask show, which is a traditional heritage of the ancient Javanese society. The Wayang or mask show is described as a depiction of human nature. Its very existence gives rise to many interpretations of the symbolism and meanings contained in it, and these conflicting interpretations seek to convey to their public their own vision of human essence in various historical circumstances. The costumed show of masked characters, like the masks themselves, cannot be separated from historical stories, such as Malangan Topeng Wayang , which tells about the history of the kingdoms of Daha and Jenggala , where the conflicting interpretations contained in the narration of symbols and signs are fully observed. Using a semiotic approach based on the R. Barthes model, the article explores the mythologized mask show, analyzes the symbols rooted in ancient history, which have come down to us in the form of drawings documented on fabric painting, lontars - manuscripts on palm leaves or in ancient books. The results of the study proved that the symbolism of signs and ancient artifacts of Malangan Topeng Wayang is rooted in retold stories that turn into folk fantasy myths that celebrate the heroism and kindness of the people of Indonesia. Nevertheless, these stories also show the presence of shameful pages of the past, hushed up by the community, since they immanently have more negative connotations which contribute to the emergence of some semantic bias, that, if misinterpreted, can distort historical facts.
