Indonesia is home to the greatest diversity of social bees in all over Asia, particularly species of the genus Apis. Thus, expanding the apiculture industry for commercial development is highly considerable. Although this industry has not become a special concern, the products of this industry are very popular among the Indonesian people, both for health, lifestyle, and other benefits. Research plays an essential role for good decision making, however, there is little research related to honey marketing in Indonesia. In this study, we observed the honey consumption of 246 respondents living in West Java by using online questionnaires and Decision Tree Classification to contribute to honey marketing research. This research shows that the motivation of the respondents in buying honey was merely for health reasons and the main purpose was for personal consumption. As for purchasing frequency, 86% of respondents purchased honey more than once a month. Then, a classification model of honey purchasing frequency based on respondents’ demographics which has an accuracy of 70.3% was built. The study results should be considered by the food industry and honey producers to emphasize consumer behaviour to formulate a better marketing strategy.
The agricultural, forestry, and fisheries sectors and also the processing industry sectors in Sumedang Regency contributed the highest GDRP value in 2014-2018, so that Sumedang Regency has a potential in agro-industrial sector. This research aims to determined the priority of superior agro-industrial products and public assessment of superior agro-industrial products that have been determined in Sumedang Regency. This research used the Comparison of Exponential Method (MPE) and ANOVA analysis. The data analysis tools were Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS Statistics 24 Software. The results of the MPE analysis showed that the priority of superior agro-industrial products in Sumedang Regency were ground coffee, roasted coffee, Cilembu roasted sweet potatoes, Cilembu sweet potato chips, red bako mole, opak ketan, white bako mole, Sumedang tofu, tempeh chips, and oncom Pasireungit. ANOVA analysis showed that there were differences of the superior agro-industrial products rank, that is Sumedang tofu, Cilembu roasted sweet potato, oncom Pasireungit, white bako mole, Cilembu sweet potato chips, tempeh chips, roasted coffee, ground coffee, red bako mole, and opak ketan.
Berau Regency is located in East Kalimantan known as “Bumi Batiwakkal” which has natural resources rich in flora and fauna. Rapid technological developments, easy access to information, and excessive exploitation of natural resources, especially forests, are a threat to Berau Regency. Increasing the capacity of the community to optimize the potential of local resources needs to be done through the activation and collaboration of various stakeholders in an integrated manner to support the 11 th Sustainable Development Goals. Activation of local commodity-based collaboration and entrepreneurial development is carried out through Participatory Action Research (PAR) with a Design Thinking approach through observing, defining, ideas, prototyping, and storytelling or testing. This approach is used to activate various stakeholder collaborations that contribute to developing superior products through innovative mapping of local potential: natural and human resources. Innovative stages are carried out to present accurate information by 1) Mapping the potential of the environment and community resources as accurate information to mobilize stakeholders in determining strategic steps; 2) Activation of the entrepreneurial ecosystem based on the development of local potential through increasing value-added products and services to improve community welfare. Based on observations, in addition to the beauty of the underwater, Berau Regency also has abundant potential forest products. Besides, the potential of rivers, prehistoric caves, mining, lakes, plantations, and the Gayo tribe culture can be used as an attractive new tourist attraction. Activation and development of local commodity-based social entrepreneurship can be a solution to improve people’s welfare by utilizing the untapped potential.
Abstract. Ramie (Boehmeria nivea) is a plant that can produce fibers from its stem but in the production process, it still produces waste containing high lignin and cellulose. The high content of these substances can be used as bio-briquette raw material because they can produce carbon and can offer a business opportunity to establish bio-briquette industry. The purpose of this study is to obtain a ramie decortification waste bio-briquette business model because until now there is no bio-briquette has been made from ramie decortication waste as its raw material. This research uses descriptive analysis method with a design thinking approach. The result of this research shows that the business model canvas is designed based on consumer's experience when interacting with the product via customer journey tool in order to get the business model in accordance with customer expectations.
