The purpose of the work was to determine the significance of the personal contribution of the Kharkiv foundryscientist professor Oleg Oleksandrovich Shatagin to the development and improvement of the technological processof continuous casting of blanks from metals and alloys. Biographical data of the scientist are provided, his path to thedevelopment and implementation of continuous casting in production processes at numerous industrial enterprises isshown. It is noted that the development of the technological process took place not only because of the enthusiasmand efficiency of O.O. Shatagin, but mostly on the basis of his scientific approaches, which were later embodied indissertations for obtaining a scientific degree, first a candidate of technical sciences, and later a doctor of technicalsciences. The scientist's scholarly achievements and public recognition of his scientific activity are noted. The featuresof one of the latest projects, which was managed by Professor O.O. Shatagin and which was dedicated to the creationof a new generation machine for vertical semi-continuous casting of hollow cylindrical blanks of large diameters fromnon-ferrous metals and alloys, were revealed. It is shown that despite the objective circumstances that did not allowthe project to be fully implemented, the value of this project for the development of science, engineering andtechnology is undeniable. The conclusions state that thanks to Oleg Oleksandrovych's talent, diligence and hard work, dozens of continuous casting machines are still working at industrial enterprises today, which definitely gives reasonto consider him an outstanding personality in the field of continuous casting technologies of metals and alloys.
The article examines the prospects of human existence in the society of the future based on certain trends of its development in the modern digital society. Based on the analysis of literary sources of information, it has been concluded that the modern information society transforms a person into a certain type of machine for processing information, since he loses the meaning of his being, ceases to be a spiritual being. It is shown that the greatest threat to the possible reconstruction of human nature is modern medical science, which will be able to turn a person into a cyborg in the future. The possibility of influencing the human brain by physical factors in order to obtain the desired properties is considered.
the article is devoted to the study of the role and place of professional culture of a teacher in the general system of his intelligence. Intelligence itself appears as a holistic formation and systemic unity of its multifactorial and multifunctional nature of activity and personality of the teacher, his professionalism, general and professional culture. The intelligence of the teacher is one of his important personal characteristics and a powerful source of purposeful pedagogical influence on students. In addition, the intelligence of the teacher is a significant stimulus to his constant self-development and self-improvement. The importance of professionalism and professional culture as integral parts of the intelligentsia and the teacher and his students is confirmed by the results of experimental research.
It is shown that against the background of the development of science and technologies, there is a noticeable spiritual, cultural, moral and ethical degradation of human society. At the same time, the purpose of the article is to attempt to answer one of the main questions of the present – why the development of science, technology and technology leads to spiritual degradation in society, to the aggravation of relationships in the system "man-society-nature-technosphere". According to the authors, one of the reasons for this situation is that for representatives of the scientific and technical intelligentsia, the scale of values is quite often limited by "perfect design" in technical terms, that is high functionality and reliability at low production costs. Together with a significant deterioration in the environmental situation, this creates a real threat to the very existence of our civilization. That is why right now the person-creator of scientific and technological progress should feel an ever greater personal responsibility for the fate of world civilization, for the consequences of the chosen paths and the nature of human development, for its future. It is shown that to overcome the crisis, it is necessary to strengthen the social and humanitarian component of the training of scientific and technical intelligentsia. Only under such conditions can it be ensured that its representatives, who are participants in the creative production process, will be able to support this process from a humanistic standpoint in the necessary direction to shape public opinion. It is also necessary to form the responsibility of the scientific and technical intelligentsia for the technological development of world civilization, to increase in its eyes the role and significance in the technological environment of such categories as spirituality, morality and legality. Without this in the conditions of rapid scientific and technological progress and innovative development, society will certainly face instability, crises and chaos. According to the authors, they can only be overcome by a suitably professionally trained, highly cultured, spiritual and responsible scientific and technical intelligentsia.
