The purpose of this study is (1) to explain the use of grammatical cohesion on the aspects of reference, substitution, ellipsis, and conjunction in the students' thesis; (2) explain the quality of thesis writing. The object of this research is thesis student of Faculty of Language and Arts Universitas Negeri Padang with number of research sample 15 thesis. Samples are taken randomly from thesis sets in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Data collection methods and techniques are language methods. The technique used is the library method by dividing the discourse into several sentences to be grouped and analyzed based on cohesion aspect, then forwarded with basic techniques tapping followed by the technique of record. The results showed that from 192 paragraphs with 362 pairs of sentences there is a marker, there were grammatical cohesion markers from dominant to the least used, ie (1) references, (2) conjunctions, (3) ellipsis and (4) substitution. From the data of the study, there are still significant errors in the use of grammatical cohesion.
The purpose of this study is (1) to explain the use of grammatical cohesion in the aspects of reference, substitution, ellipse, and inner conjunction; (2) explain the quality of the use of grammatical cohesion markers in the Singgalang newspaper. The object of this research is the Singgalang newspaper with a total sample of 20 Singgalang newspapers. Samples were taken randomly from Singgalang newspapers in 2018 and 2019. The methods and techniques of data collection are language methods. The technique used is the library method by dividing the discourse into several sentences to be grouped and analyzed based on the cohesion aspects, then proceed with the basic tapping technique followed by the note-taking technique. The results showed that out of 212 paragraphs with 602 pairs of sentences with grammatical cohesion, there were markers of grammatical cohesion from the dominant to the least used, namely (1) reference (54.82%), (2) conjunction (32.89%) , (3) ellipsis (5.81%), and (4) substitution (3.65%). From the research data, there are 48.00% accuracy in using markers of grammatical cohesion and 52.00% inaccuracies in the use of markers of grammatical cohesion.
The purpose of this study is to describe how Metrojambi.com as one of the media online reporting cases of violence against women. This research is qualitative research. Techniques of data collection using techniques refer and note assisted by data collection tables. Data analysis was performed with a description of perspective analysis of Sara Mills. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that from news of violence against women in the case of rape in media online Metrojambi.com published from August 2016-October 2018, construct women as subject, not as object of exploitation. However, in its presentation, women are still described as marginal, weak, defenseless and sensitive. Metrojambi.com's online media positions the reader as an ideological subject. The reader is brought to the narrator's position so readers accept it as a reality.
Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan strategi kesantunan berbahasa Indonesia fokus bertanya. Penelitian kualitatif ini memiliki data penelitian yang beragam dianalisis dengan mentranskipsikan, menginventarisasikan, mengidentifikasikan, mengklasifikasikan, merumuskan dan menjelaskan, serta menyimpulkan dan memverifikasi data. Temuan penelitian: (1) tindak tutur bertanya dalam Webinar; (2) cara-cara yang digunakan oleh penutur dalam Webinar untuk membentuk tindak tutur bertanya yang santun. Ada dua jenis tindak tutur bertanya, tindak tutur bertanya total dan parsial. Strategi kesantunan berbahasa fokus bertanya dalam Webinar ditentukan dengan menganalisis tuturan berdasarkan maksim. Dengan mematuhi 6 maksim kesantunan disertai atau tidak disertai pengutamaan maksim, tindak tutur bertanya itu sudah digolongkan santun.Abstract: This study aims to explain politeness strategies in Indonesian with a focus on asking questions. This qualitative research has various research data analyzed by transcribing, inventorying, identifying, classifying, formulating and explaining, as well as concluding and verifying the data. Research findings: (1) speech acts asking questions in the Webinar; (2) the methods used by speakers in the Webinar to form polite questioning speech acts. There are two types of questioning speech acts, total and partial questioning speech acts. Language politeness strategies that focus on asking questions in the Webinar are determined by analyzing speech based on maxims. By obeying the 6 maxims of politeness with or without prioritizing maxims, the speech act of asking is classified as polite.
