Together, our data indicate that Lupeol may orchestrate a bifurcated regulation of neoplastic growth and apoptosis in head and neck cancers and may serve as a promising agent for the management of tumors that have progressed on a platinum-based treatment regimen.

The accuracy and sensitivity of USG in detection of cervical lymph node metastases make it a potentially promising and cheap preoperative tool for staging neck node metastases and optimizing the treatment plan for surgeons, especially in countries such as India.

Major vessel involvement of a tumour mass should not necessarily be considered a barrier to en bloc resection and hence curative surgery. Radical surgical resection may offer the only chance for cure or palliation for these patients. Detailed preoperative planning within an extended multi-disciplinary team that includes vascular specialists is essential for these complex patients.
