This paper describes the need and implementation of digital simulation in Indonesia's architectural design of health facilities. The background of this research is based on the detail of complex architectural needs in planning and architectural design in health facilities. Simulation requirements are needed to support the analysis and design exploration stages in architectural design in health facilities. The digital simulation is expected to support the architectural planning process to produce effective, efficient, healthy, and practical designs for building and environmental comfort and optimizing health services. Using the literature review method, the results of this study are expected to contribute to designing and developing architecture in health facilities and being a reference material that is easily understood by the community and stakeholders.
The Jeron Benteng area as a strategic area in the center of Yogyakarta is a vital part of developing the city's identity and performance in increasing interest in social, cultural, economic, tourism, and other strategic activities. The Jeron Benteng area is currently one of the main tourist references in Yogyakarta, but besides that, this area is also a center of dense settlements. So that both internal and external activities, as they should, need to run side by side on an ongoing basis. This study aims to identify spatial connectivity in the distribution of occupant and visitor movements, as well as visual connectivity of spatial physical elements in realizing regional characteristics so that they can play an optimal role in supporting sustainable activities. As it is known that the road network is a vital component in meeting the needs of movement and realizing the spatial characteristics and identity of an area. This study uses an exploratory qualitative method in defining the results of the analysis of space syntax through the help of the DepthMapX software. The results of this paper are a description of the appropriate strategy to be applied in managing the use of space and roads in the Jeron Benteng area, Kraton, Yogyakarta in order to realize the characteristics of a more optimal cultural, historical, and tourism area.
The prolonged COVID19 pandemic situation that began in 2019 has become a phenomenon that affects many aspects of life, including habits, behavior, and space requirements in residential facilities. A form of change that can feel is increasing or decreasing space based on its zoning. Both public and private areas have their roles in building function. Even the spatial preferences are transformed spatially. This need is undoubtedly a particular concern that needs to be considered in its approach to a dwelling with limited land. This study analyzes the forms of changes in space requirements in public, semi-public, semi-private, service, and private areas in a residential facility on limited land to produce recommendations for processing spatial configurations between areas. The research was conducted through an exploratory, descriptive approach by identifying user needs before and after the pandemic and then reviewing the relevance of the theory of spatial relations. In addition, experimental methods are used to find and respond to the utilization and division of space in dwellings on limited land. The need for housing, especially on limited land, remains a top priority for people with middle to lower economic levels. Efforts to fulfill this can only be achieved by housing ownership with limited land. However, this is contrary to the availability of land whose space capacity is not sufficient to meet the needs. The architectural solution is : vertical development strategy, create public awareness to have a healthy dwelling becomes an obligation, adjusting economic value preferences or expenses need to be invested wisely by considering appropriate building development strategies while maintaining health, function, and aesthetics, and Spatial configuration in responding to a pandemic is essential, namely through an organization or spatial arrangement. With the processing that is carried out, it can create a more effective and efficient spatial organization and provide a better quality of life, health, and psychology.
