The Nagan Raya steam power plant 2x110 Megawatt is one of the power plants owned by PT. PLN (Persero) located in Aceh. The Nagan Raya steam power plant that operates continuously is often failure. An overhaul of maintenance activities that lasted only six months was the cause of frequent disruptions or failures. Performance evaluation in terms of reliability is urgently needed to minimize the failure. This study aims to determine the level of reliability and preventive maintenance time based on Monte Carlo simulation to the nine critical components of the boiler section. Monte Carlo simulations are used to predict precise maintenance time and future reliability values. Monte Carlo simulation results on nine important components of the boiler section, maintenance time is required within 40 days to 86 days of maintenance with a reliability value of 31% to 38%.
This study delivers the analysis of business process of the nutmeg oil production process in a small and medium enterprise (SME) in South Aceh using Business Process Improvement (BPI). This study analyses the pre-refining, refining and post refining activities of the nutmeg oil production process based on economics, labour, and technology aspects. This study carries out 3 phases of BPI which are organizing for improvement, understanding the process, and streamlining. This study reveals activity efficiency from 31 (on the as-is model) to 26 (on the to-be-model). The activities are further analysed using Devil’s Quadrangle, particularly for cost and time dimensions. As a result of the new technology implementation being proposed, the fixed cost has increased by 48.33%, the variable cost has decreased by 47.64% and time has improved by 33.33%. Moreover, this study provides a recommendation to implement the to-be-model of the business process as an SOP for the nutmeg oil production process in South Aceh SMEs.
Supply chain characteristics in the agricultural industry differ from the industry in general, the structure is more complex and unique according to its agricultural commodities. All of the aspects starting from the upstream are very important to consider because of their dependence on the suitability of the environment and the processes that are carried out on the pre-source. Patchouli oil industry which is mainly located in Aceh Jaya Regency is the object of this study due to the fact it is the largest supplier of patchouli oil in Aceh Province. It is estimated that patchouli oil which is one of the superior local wisdom product is becoming an interesting subject again. This is indicated by several local products that use it as the main raw material. Certainly, this will be difficult to be applied if the supply chain from the upstream to the downstream is not evaluated and upgraded. For this reason, it is necessary to do a mapping process on the vulnerable side, including pre-source, source, make, and deliver. This mapping used the SCOR method version 12.0 and adapted to the make-to-stock industry scheme. The output of this study is a reliable and measurable process system in the patchouli oil industry.
