The number of patients with diabetes in Indonesia reach 19,47 million in 2021, mostly is caused by the adoption of sedentary and unhealthy lifestyles. Continuous self-management is important in diabetes care. It requires optimal coordination and communication between patients, families, and health care provider. The use of communication technology could be solution to the problem. This study aims to initiate an android-based mobile apps technology as a tool for patient, family, and healthcare provider to optimize patient with T2DM treatment. This study will be conducted in Public Health Centers (PHCs) in Yogyakarta using an exploratory sequential mixed-methods design which is divided into three phases. The first phase will use qualitative descriptive methods. Patients with T2DM, families, nurses, physicians and Health Social Security Agency officers in Indonesia will be involved in a focus group discussion (FGD) and in-depth interviews to understand their needs in optimizing the treatment. The second phase will be the development of an android-based application on the first phase results. The apps will be usability tested by involving experts (heuristic evaluation) and users (think aloud method) to ensure that the apps really meet targeted user’s need. In the third phase, we will collect feedback from user after using this apps for three months. The effectiveness of the apps will be measured by self-management improvement and glycemic control of patients with T2DM. The non-equivalent control group design will be applied using a pre-repeated post-test control group. The result of this study will be an Android-based Application which will be called Integrated Diabetes Self-Management (IDSM) app to optimize the implementation of diabetes self-management which can improve glycemic control of patients with T2DM as one of the indicators of the Indonesian Chronic Disease Management Program at PHCs.
West Papua is the second biggest province in eastern part of Indonesia. Availability and accessibility of health care services are among the priority problems in this province. Telemedicine Indonesia (TEMENIN), a telemedicine pilot project from the Ministry of Health, has been implemented in 4 health care facilities in West Papua since 2018. This paper aims to evaluate the implementation and challenges of TEMENIN in respected health facilities in West Papua province. We applied a descriptive study using qualitative and quantitative approaches. Focus group discussion and interviews with participants emphasized the high demands of well running telemedicine. However, several difficulties and challenges have contributed to the low utilization of the TEMENIN during the pilot project. Those include unstable Internet connection, limited ease of use and lack of suitable features that meet local health problems. Several recommendations are suggested to increase the utilization and improve the pilot project in the coming years.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran self-efficacy mahasiswa profesi ners program studi ilmu keperawatan terhadap metode pembelajaran e-learning berdasarkan 3 dimensi self-efficacy yaitu magnitude, generality dan strength. Metode: Penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan rancangan cross-sectional. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa profesi Program Studi Ilmu Keperawatan tahun 2018/2019, Universitas Gadjah Mada, stase manajemen keperawatan dan praktek keperawatan dasar (PKD) yang telah mengikuti program pembelajaran online (e-learning). Penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling dengan jumlah responden 102 mahasiswa (70 mahasiswa stase PKD dan 32 mahasiswa stase manajemen keperawatan). Pengambilan data menggunakan instrumen Online Learning Self-efficacy Scale. Data dianalisis dan dilaporkan dengan distribusi frekuensi. Hasil: Sebanyak 61 (59,8%) mahasiswa profesi ners memiliki self-efficacy yang tinggi terhadap pembelajaran dengan metode e-learning. Rata-rata self-efficacy tinggi pada 2 dimensi yaitu strength (mean=15,44, SD=2,3) dan generality (mean=14,53, SD=2,3), sedangkan tingkat self-efficacy yang rendah pada dimensi magnitude (mean=12,00, SD=3,1). Diskusi: Materi pembelajaran e-learning dengan video dan tugas yang dikemas secara interaktif sangat dibutuhkan untuk meningkatkan rasa percaya diri dan self-efficacy mahasiswa. Penting juga untuk melakukan pengembangan materi dan tugas-tugas yang dimulai dari konsep sederhana secara bertahap ke tingkat kesulitan yang lebih tinggi yang dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam memahami keseluruhan materi pembelajaran. Kesimpulan: Mahasiswa keperawatan yang berada pada fase rotasi klinik memiliki kecenderungan tingkat self-efficacy yang bernilai tinggi terhadap metode pembelajaran online (e-learning).
