The Covid-19 pandemic that occurs in the world is one of the challenges that must be addressed by following technological developments. Telemedicine is currently an alternative in doctor-patient communication by taking advantage of technological developments in the Industrial Revolution 4.0. This study uses a normative legal method with an approach to telemedicine theories, regulations, and cases. The formulation of the problem raised in this study is about the benefits of telemedicine in general and the confidentiality of patient medical data and information. Telemedicine can reach all levels of society, especially with the geographical conditions in Indonesia and the uneven distribution of health workers. Telemedicine makes it easy for the public to conduct consultation and communication with health service facilities. The aspect of protecting patient medical data and information is one of the things that need to be considered in this telemedicine service because it is something that is regulated in layers through Law No. 29 of 2004 concerning Medical Practice, Law no. 36 of 2009 concerning Health, Regulation of the Indonesian Medical Council (Perkonsil) No. 74 of 2020.Keywords: Telemedicine, Benefits, Confidentiality
Oral Candidiasis is infectious that caused by fungi Candida albican. Candida infection can happen on Diabetes mellitus patients (DM) because of glucose high level on oral cavity fluid and decreasing immunity patient. The purpose was to discuss and management acute erythematous candidiasis on DM patient. A 63-year-old male patient arrives at the Dental Hospital with dorsal pain, heat and pain when eating and drinking. Pain has been felt since about 2 months ago after the patient experienced heart disease. The patient has a history of controlled diabetes mellitus, controlled hypertension, asthma and gastritis. The patient feels pain in his tongue getting worse accompanied by a burning sensation and pain when the body was unhealthy. The patient was diagnosed with acute erythematous candidiasis and treated with systemic antifungal, mouthwash and topical antiseptic for oral cavity cases and was referred to an internal medicine specialist for blood sugar control. The patient was declared cured after 36 days of treatment. Knowing the predisposing factors in this case (DM) is very important in the management of erythematous acute candidiasis therapy. Patients with diabetes mellitus must routinely control blood glucose levels, maintain oral hygiene and not worsen by adding other predisposing factors.
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease in which blood sugar levels are abnormally because the body does not produce enough insulin (type 1) and insulin deficiency (type II). The condition of diabetes can worsen the periodontal tissue. Purpose of this case report is to explain the characteristics, oral manifestations and dental management of patients with diabetes. A 53-year-old request to made aartificial denture. Intraoral examination presented loss of teeth 35, 36, 37, 46, 47 and dental roots 23, 24, 27, 38, 48. Patients have a history of diabetes with Metformin 500 mg oral therapy and have consumed it since 2016. The treatment plan is education, plaque control with supragingival scaling then extraction of the roots dental and making of removable partial dentures. Based on the results of lab tests showed blood glucose levels in October 177 mg / dl. Patients were instructed to maintain oral hygiene with mouthwash prescriptions and to continue diabetes treatment. Dental care in patients with diabetes must consider various things such as the patient's condition, stress reduction, dietary modifications, prophylactic medications, and routine monitoring of blood glucose levels
Background: Heat-cured acrylic resin is one of the most widely used denture base materials. However, the residual monomer can reduce its mechanical properties, which affect physical properties such as surface roughness, resulting in high porosity—the results in the growth of fungal colonies. One way to improve these properties is to add a reinforcement material such as nano-hydroxyapatite (HAp) from the Anadara granosa shell. Nano-hydroxyapatite has a large surface area to act as a filler because of its strong bonding capacity and a smoother surface, and a higher density to improve mechanical properties. Purpose: This study aims to determine HAp powder's effect from the Anadara granosa shells on the surface roughness of heat-cured acrylic resin. Methods: This type of research used an experimental laboratory, research design posttest-only control group design. Twenty-four samples were used and divided into three groups: the acrylic resin group with 1%, 3% blood cockles shell HAp, and acrylic resin without HAp with simple random sampling. Results: The results showed that the lowest mean value of surface roughness was in a group with the addition of 3% HAp, at 1.696 ± 0.25058 µm. One-Way ANOVA test on roughness showed a significant difference between groups with p = 0.000 (p <0.05). Conclusion: This study concludes that there is an effect of HAp on the roughness of heat-cured acrylic resin.
