The paper presents the materials of the study of the influence of osteopathic treatment on the "starting pains" and the volume of knee joint movements in patients with bilateral stage II gonarthrosis. Forty-two patients aged 45 to 55 years participated in the study. According to results of the study against the background of combined (osteopathic + allopathic) treatment an increase in flexion-extension amplitude in the knee joints (by 17.5º in the right knee and 20º in the left knee joint) was registered compared to the group receiving only allopathic treatment. There was a statistically significant decrease in the level of pain in both groups.
The article presents the records of a study of the effect of osteopathic treatment on gastrointestinal functions and quality of life in children with functional constipation. The study involved 40 patients, aged from 8 to 12, with signs of functional constipation according to Rome IV criteria, revision. The treatment duration was 8 weeks. Complaints were analysed, life quality and anxiety level were evaluated. It was found out that after osteopathic treatment the number of complaints decreased, quality of life indices improved, and the anxiety level decreased.
The article presents materials of a study of the effect of osteopathic treatment on the parameters of hemodynamics, respiratory function, and the duration of the respiratory support for newborns with respiratory distress syndrome. The study involved 28 children in need of respiratory support and surfactant administration. According to the results of the study, against the background of osteopathic treatment, a significant reduction in the duration of respiratory support and newborns' stay in the intensive care unit was observed.
The article highlights the study records on the infl uence of comprehensive rehabilitation measures combined with osteopathic treatment on the balance function quality in children suff ering from cerebral palsy. The study involved children aged 7 to 12 with spastic diplegia (level II according to GMFCS), intact intelligence, and the ability to move independently without technical devices. The study showed that, if the osteopathic treatment was included in the set of rehabilitation measures, the quality of life and postural control in the upright position improved in children, the latter manifested itself in an increased indicator of the balance function quality.
The article highlights the materials of the influence of complex rehabilitation measures with the inclusion of osteopathic treatment on the symptom’s dynamics in patients with anxiety-phobic disorders. The study involved patients of both sexes, aged from 23 to 49 years, the treatment lasted from 6 to 8 weeks. It has been determined that against the osteopathic treatment, the number of complaints in patients decreases, the indices of vegetative status return to normal, and the frequency of incidences of somatic dysfunctions decreases.
