The sudden exposure of COVID-19 has affected more than one hundred million people live and heath across the world. COVID-19 pandemic not only affected the lives of people, and it also affected the functions of Health care systems and also produced an overburden to the Health care systems. During the COVID-19 period, health care workers are affected by psychological problems, especially nurses working in the hospital and protecting the lives of everyone affected with COVID -19 infections. It is important to identify the issues that producing psychological problems among nurses, and it is necessary to support the nurses during their struggle. The researcher considering these issues, did a rapid systematic review to identify the percentage of nurses affected with psychological impact and causes for psychological impacts among nurses during COVID19 outbreaks. The researcher searched Google scholar and Science direct for selecting relevant research articles. The searched the studies based on the title, Study design, population, psychological problems of the nurses like anxiety, depression, fear, stress, sleeping problems, key words of nursing, psychological problems, and COVID-19. A PRISM protocol was used for selecting relevant research articles. According to the systematic review, the result shows that 26.4% of the nurses had depression, 40.8% had anxiety, and 42.7% had somatic symptoms, 50.5% had stress, and 91.2% had fear. The nurses are at risk of psychological problems and physical problems as being due to Covid-19. Effective intervention should be planned on nurses' issues, and it helps to strengthen the mental health of nurses.
BACKGROUND The COVID-19 epidemic has had a major impact on mental health in the general population. As a result, during a pandemic, monitoring and oversight of the population's mental health is a top responsibility. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is to examines the anxiety level of the people during initial period of COVID-19. METHODS The cross sectional online survey was done using the zung self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and zung self-rating depression scale. Out of 250 responders, 19.2%, 6.4%, and 0.8% experienced mild, moderate, marked to severe levels of anxiety RESULTS According to analysis, female (OR=1.3,95% CI=0.55 – 3.3,P=0.524), above the age of 59 years(OR=1.6,CI=(0.33 – 7.72),P=0.555), were experiencing moderate level of anxiety when compared with others. Related to depression, 36.4%,16.4% and 5.2% experienced mild, moderate ,marked to severe levels of depression. The findings show that female (OR=0.79,95%,CI=0.36–1.7,P=0.of0.845),above the age of 59 years(OR=4.4,CI=0.75 – 25.8,P=0.101)were experiencing marked level of depression than others. CONCLUSIONS The main causes for anxiety and depression among the people is due to financial constraints, dual role of women, work from home, fear of infection, unemployment and online education.
Sleep is a naturally recurring state of mind and body in which the main features are the changes in the level of consciousness, reduced sensory and motor activity and reduced interactions with the environment. We need to have adequate sleep to maintain an optimal health and wellbeing. Human beings need to sleep at least 6 hours during night to maintain optimal health. People who are sleeping five hours or less than five hours can alter the level of blood pressure. Sleep promotes general health, concentration and regulates the blood stress hormones and it keeps our nervous system healthy. If a person doesn’t have adequate sleep for a longer period, can change the level of stress hormone in the blood and it can increase the level of blood pressure. This study was done to find out the relationship between quality of sleep and the level of blood pressure among working adults. The descriptive research design was used to assess the relationship between qualities of sleep with the history of changes in the level of blood pressure of working adults. The study was done among the working people who are living in Jazan region. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 30 participants were selected by using convenient sampling technique. The Quality of sleep of the participants was assessed by using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire (PSQI). The total number of male participants were 4 and female participants were 26. Majority of them were in the age group between 30 and 40 years, and most of them had a preference for mixed food habits. Assessment of the quality of sleep of participants shows that overall 60% of the participants have poor sleep quality.
