This case outlines the journey of this new-age young social entrepreneur, Akhilesh Taparia, whose mantra has been social welfare coupled with organisational success. The case traces how he fought against all odds to take his enterprise to greater heights and deliberates around these questions: What did he do to achieve success in such a short period of time? What was his thought process? How did he grow? What were the main elements of his strategy to have a sustainable enterprise? What were his main hurdles? The case attempts to identify the challenges of social entrepreneurs in emerging economies like India, especially when the required resources are not easily available. Being an entrepreneur and resolving problems can be tough but being in the social space can be even more hard. Nonetheless at a time when the textile industry was caught amongst stiff competition, Go Green created a niche for itself as a textile supplier of organic fabrics. A personal interview of Akhilesh Taparia and a personal visit to his factory gave the authors a complete understanding of the manufacturing and packing process. The primary objective of this case is to understand concepts related to social entrepreneurship and deliberate upon Taparia’s entrepreneurial characteristics, motivations, expertise and effectiveness, and how these supported his company’s growth.
The outbreak of COVID-19 has hindered nation's economic development. Individuals have also lost their income, and they suffer severe depression. There's confusion about both the future and when the lockout gets over for things to return to normal also adds to the warped perception of population time. During this time frame the lack of points of reference results in an increase in memory gaps. Results showed that a pandemic's psychological effects do not affect everybody similarly; people are affected differently based on their industry, age, gender, etc. and other variables. Some individuals might be a little more susceptible to COVID's effect, and face various psychological repercussions such as tension, anxiety, uncertainty, insomnia, and other concerns. This is a primary study whose results reveal that the actions, motivation, and attitudes of each generation to external stimuli differ widely, be it in a work context or in private relationships. They react differently to the same circumstances or conditions. The pandemic had a long-lasting effect on people' physical and psychological wellbeing. The study revealed there is a difference in the intergenerational responses during a national pandemic when the entire generation is stuck in their houses experiencing the same global catastrophe. Therefore pandemic has affected differently age group people differently and also different impact on their sense of time.
