The outbreak of the 'new type coronavirus ' has affected all commercial sectors including the tourism sector, nearly bringing mobility in tourism to a halt. The aim of this study is to determine the possible effects of the outbreak on the cost items of hotel businesses. The method of the study is based on the qualitative research method. In this context, a large five-star hotel enterprise (luxury segment) in Istanbul Province was examined. The work is designed in the context of a case-by-case method. In this respect, the effects of the outbreak on the cost items of the business were examined by the hotel employees. Data of the study were obtained through the semi-structured questions form. The study concluded that food and beverages, front office, sales and booking, parking and spa-health departments were the most affected cost items. Ahead, the COVID-19 outbreak can negatively affect people economically, and subsequently, people's purchasing power may also decline. For this reason, suggestions are made for how businesses can create affordable pricing policies for consumers and their own businesses in their products and services.
Günümüz iş dünyasında işletmelerin başarılı bir şekilde mücadele etmeleri için stratejik çeviklik, kritik bir özellik olarak kabul edilmektedir. Dolayısıyla stratejik çeviklik üzerinde etkisi olan değişkenlerin belirlenmesi stratejik yönetim literatürü açısından oldukça önemlidir. Bu araştırmanın amacı stratejik farkındalık ve stratejik çeviklik arasındaki ilişkide stratejik yeteneğin aracılık etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemi olan ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmış, veriler 391 yöneticiden anket tekniğiyle elde edilmiştir. Veriler analiz edilirken SPSS ve LİSREL programlarından yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre stratejik farkındalığın, stratejik çeviklik üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisi vardır. Bununla birlikte stratejik yetenek, stratejik farkındalık ve stratejik çeviklik arasındaki ilişkide önemli düzeyde anlamlı bir aracılık rolüne sahiptir.
Düzce province has received significant immigration from the Caucasus region in the past. Communities who came to Düzce through immigration brought their food cultures to this region with them. One of the most important of these migration communities is Abkhazians. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the culinary culture of Düzce Abkhazians, who contribute to the culinary culture of Düzce. In the study, the culinary culture of the Abkhaz living in Düzce was introduced and the products they used and the main dishes were tried to be determined. In this context, the study is limited to Yeşilyayla (Bıçkı) Village, Halilbey (Tsihinara) Village, Darıyeri Hasanbey Village and Derdin (Guma) villages, which are connected to Düzce province and where Abkhazians live. Qualitative research method was used in the study. Within the scope of the study, the data were obtained by interview technique. In order to better reflect the Duzce Abkhaz culinary culture, Abkhaz participants living in Düzce were preferred. As a result of the study, it was concluded that traditional foods still exist in Abkhaz cuisine, meat and vegetable dishes are in the majority, and dessert culture is not very common.
