Theoretically the adolescent psychological development is a transition period which is marked by changes in biological, psychological and social aspects. Empirically, the increasing trend of juvenile delinquency is caused by the inability of the early adolescents to be assertive so that their personality become weak and they can easily fall into negative things. This study aimed at determining the extent to which environment and mass media have the influence on assertive behaviour and juvenile delinquency trend in Junior High School in West Java Province. The respondents of this research were 458 students of Junior High Schools in West Java. Questionnaire was used to collect the data. Samples were chosen by using stratified random sampling technique. Data analysis employed Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with two-stages testing: measurement model and structural model, using Analysis of Moment Structure (AMOS). The results of this study revealed that all hypothetical statements have significant effects. The findings showed that the increasing level of students’ assertive behaviour can decrease the tendency of juvenile delinquency in them. Keywords: assertive behaviour, parenting, mass media, juvenile delinquency trend
Study about formative assessment contribution to habits of mind of the Biology students purposes to describe weather there is a formative assessment contribution (feedback, self assessment and peer assessment) to the forming of student habits of mind. The research was carried out in Biology Education Departement to students who took Botany Phanerogamae instruction on 2009/2010. Many of formative assessment strategies were applied on theory and practical study, such as group presentation task, concept diagram, to observe practical and presentation activity, drawing book task and practical report. And some of the instrument used on this study were habits of mind tracing questionnaire, work observation sheet on the theoty and practical study, concept diagram, task and rubric for drawing book task, practical report and student questionnaire. The result of the research shows that there is an contribution of formative assessment to the habits of mind, with medium classified with the R value of 0,654. While determination coefficient value is 0.372 which means that 37.2% variation of habits of mind was influenced by formative assessment. Through the path analysis know that the direct influence on feedback, self assessment and peer assessment to habits of mind is 16,7%, 11.1% and 2.6%.
and the Basic Education Capacity Trust Fund (BEC-TF).CSAS, ACER and UPI worked closely together during the design phase of the study -including decisions regarding the domains to be tested, instruments to be used, and sampling strategies. In addition, UPI took responsibility for developing the Indonesian language test and conducting a significant amount of the fieldwork. ACER supplied the initial instruments (with the exception of the Indonesian test), and had responsibility for amending and finalising those instruments. ACER was also responsible for entering, cleaning and analysing the data, drafting this report and finalising it with their collaborators. Overall management of the project was undertaken by CSAS.Following two pilot phases involving the trialling of instruments and piloting of procedures, the main phase of the study began in September 2009, with support from the BEC-TF which is administered by the World Bank and funded by the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the European Commission. Performance Assessment Model (PAM) has been developed to represent the physics concepts which able to be devided into five experiments: 1) acceleration due to gravity; 2) Hooke's law; 3) simple harmonic motion; 4) work-energy concepts; and 5) the law of momentum conservation. The aim of this study was to determine the contribution of PAM in physics laboratory to increase students' Critical Thinking Disposition (CTD) at senior high school. Subject of the study were 11 th grade consist 32 students of a senior high school in Lubuk Sikaping, West Sumatera. The research used one group pretest-postest design. Data was collected through essay test and questionnaire about CTD. Data was analyzed using quantitative way with N-gain value. This study concluded that performance assessmet model effectively increases the N-gain at medium category. It means students' critical thinking disposition significant increase after implementation of performance assessment model in physics laboratory.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
