Kota Lama Semarang, also known as Semarang Old Town in Central of Java Province, Indonesia, has the potential to become an inclusive and sustainable tourism destination, in accordance with the Indonesian government’s development plan. However, its potential has not been promoted publicly in the best ways. The aim of this research is to describe and develop a model for promoting inclusive and sustainable tourism in the area. The research applies qualitative methods and takes a descriptive approach. The data were collected using observation and interviews, while data analysis was performed using Creswell's descriptive qualitative analysis. The Sejarah di Dekatku (History Near Us) application (the new model), together with social media promotion, provides an alternative way of promoting tourism. During a trial launch, the application was appreciated by the tourists who used it. The application is considered easy to use and suitable for the needs of the community. It features themes of inclusivity and education, and it is considered important for the promotion of historical areas of Semarang. The advantages of using the application to help develop Kota Lama Semarang tourism are that it is easy to use and navigate, it has attractive features, and it provides easy-to-understand information. Our research suggests that the application should be launched immediately and used as a way of promoting the area. In addition, features and interfaces should be developed further to make the application even more attractive and user-friendly. This can be done by researching and developing the features and the interface of the application to make it more attractive and user-friendly.
The food crop agricultural sector in Pati Regency in 2019 succeeded in producing more than 592 thousand tons of rice with a harvest area of 99,453 hectares (BPS, 2021). This achievement must be increased without overexploiting the land. Field data for 2020 shows a population of 1,324,188 people, a population growth rate of 0.58%. Farmers apply a sustainable agricultural system. These findings were analyzed using the calculation of the carrying capacity of agricultural land developed from population pressure (Soemarwoto, 1985). Furthermore, it is described as an explanation of the calculation results. The results showed that the carrying capacity of agricultural land in 2020 is worth 1.35, meaning that it can provide rice for its residents, even a surplus. Indicates high land productivity. Meanwhile, the prediction of the carrying capacity of agricultural land in 2030 will be 1.28 which indicates a decrease in value of 0.07 but it is still able to meet the food needs of the population. The application of the concept of sustainable agriculture by farmers needs to be carried out and supported by various policies from the local government so that the sustainability of agricultural conditions in Pati Regency is maintained.
Semarang City is a fascinating city to be studied historically through various aspects, including transportation problems. This paper tries to examine the condition of the transportation network in Semarang at least in the first 30 years of the 20th century. The main problem in this paper is how the condition of the transportation network in Semarang and its impact on Semarang people in the early 20th century. So far, the concern about historical studies in Semarang regarding transportation has always been regarding the railway network centered in this city. However, the railway network is only connecting Semarang with other areas in Central Java and beyond. What about the transportation conditions in the city of Semarang itself?. Of course, the train is not the primary mode if we talk about transportation mode inside the city. In the land transportation network in the big cities in the Dutch East Indies at the end of the 19th century, the mode of transportation using animal power played a huge role. However, changes began to occur when modern transportation modes, such as bicycles, motorbikes, cars, and trams, entered the Dutch East Indies, including Semarang City, at the beginning of the 20th century. The significant impact that occurs is that this mode of transportation provides a new network pattern in transportation, especially the land transportation network in Semarang. This study uses the historical method, which consists of four stages: heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study indicate that there are complex dynamics in the development of land transportation in Semarang, besides that technology plays an essential role in this development.
Scientific journals have a vital role, from developing and disseminating science and technology to becoming a source of income generating for universities. Semarang State University has 166 journals, both National and Scientific Journals, spread across all faculties, study programs, institutions, and postgraduate programs. Many journals demand a good governance system characterized by a comprehensive service system. These procedures ensure consistent implementation and clear division of roles, so that journal management is carried out consistently, accountable, transparently, and professionally. This study aims to compile the main indicators of core services that must exist in journal management units at universities to support improving the performance of university journals that are consistent, accountable, transparent, professional, and able to capture future business opportunities. This type of research uses Participatory Action Research. The sampling technique is purposive sampling, and qualitative data is analyzed using content analysis. The study results found that the management of professional journals that have an orientation to business development at the university level requires a minimum of 10 key roles with 12 minimum service systems that must be developed. From these results, the next step is to develop an adequate information system outside of OJS to improve the performance of managers and services.
