Organ donation among the world community today is not a new phenomenon. The noble act of organ donation by donors that at times, has no blood relations has enabled many patients with chronic diseases to earn a second chance in life. The same scenario also takes place in Malaysia in which awareness of organ donation to help parties in need is not new. Many citizen of Malaysia is aware that their contribution gives "new life" to the needy. This little "scarifies" indirectly shows that Malaysian people put a high value for the social development in their country. The Malays in Malaysia is the largest ethnic group, but unfortunately, the statistics show that the Malays are the least to sign up for organ donation. Thus, the objective of this study is to identify the causes that prevented them from doing so. This study was conducted by taking into account three factors; religion, awareness, as well as perception or views on organ donation willingness among the Malays. Of the three factors studied, only two significant factors contributed to the main question of why the Malays shy away from organ donation and they are religion and perception. This shows that the Malays are aware that organ donation is a noble practice, but limited perception and knowledge of religion limit their participation. Therefore, it is recommended that a comprehensive discussion among religious leaders in changing the perception and explain the laws of religion on the issue of organ donation is carried out continuously in various mediums so that the awareness of the Malays in organ donation can be fully utilized for the benefit of everyone.

Adoption of lean production in managing the production operations with a cleaner production due to of environmental concerns positively drive new manufacturing paradigm in the manufacturing environment. This leads to this study being carried out, in order to investigate the extent of which these practices has been adopted in Malaysia’s manufacturing industry. The finding revealed that good performance in environmental practice in tandem with the appraisal of labour safety in material handling has helped the respondents to successfully sustain the quality and durability of products, improves the operation efficiency, as well as production’s productivity. Aside from that, the correlation test results between all items in LP and CP have a significant positive relationship with each other where the appraisal in the selection of equipment from CP practices have a very strong relationship with the improvement of working conditions that resulted from the adoption of LP practices. These potentially make both practices as the best approach that has potential to be integrated together to support the development of a sustainable manufacturing practice principally in Malaysia’s manufacturing industry.

A diversity of techniques and practices in Lean Production (LP) as a tool for cultivating a culture of continuous improvement has successfully produced a holistic approach in achieving a high level of sustainability in manufacturing. Therefore, this study was undertaken to investigate the current performance of manufacturing sustainability in manufacturing industry in Malaysia, and the contribution of Lean in manufacturing sustainability. The findings show that manufacturing industry in Malaysia has a high sustainability in social competency, followed by economic and environmental competency. Even though the environmental sustainability is ranked lowest, the result reveals that aiming to have better control in environment and labour safety is crucial in producing high quality products. In addition, the correlation analysis reveals that this situation has a high relation to the adoption of Lean in production operations. A high competency in adapting Lean does not just increase the manufacturing efficiency, but also has a substantial influence in producing a sustainable product. This indicates that Lean is not just suitable in fulfilling the manufacturing function, but has the potential to be adapted comprehensively, primarily in achieving high manufacturing sustainability.

Waqf funding in this digital era is generally seen to be in line with the world's challenges in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. The impact of this pandemic has also had a profound impact on the education sector, especially those involving Private Tahfiz Schools (PTS) which are registered under the Waqf Management unit of the State Islamic Religious Council (MAIN). However, the question remains whether these registered PTSs is able to provide the best educational services, especially amid a pandemic. In reality, 67.4 per cent of Private Tahfiz Schools were closed because they could not afford the operating coPTS. In the face of a challenging economy, it is important for PTS to think of alternatives for raising funds and income through businesses in the current pandemic. Therefore, the implementation of the ijarah al-'ain contract is an important instrument in sustaining the management coPTS of a PTS. A total of six (6) informants representing PTS and MAIN managers in Kedah, Perlis, and Penang were interviewed. The results of the interviews were transcribed and analyzed using NVIVO 11 software. The findings of the study found that there are four types of ijarah al-'ain assets implemented in the waqf management of a PTS, namely rental of houses and homestays, buildings, vehicles, and agricultural farms supported by MAIN. This study contributes to the theoritical and practical implication in generating income and business that can provide long-term benefits in the waqf management of a PTS.
