Synthesis and Reactivity Studies of a New Reagent, Ethyltriphenylphosphonium Tribromide. -Title reagent is synthesized and successfully used for bromination and acylation reactions as well as for the synthesis of isothiocyanates (XI) from freshly prepared dithiocarbamate salts (X).
