In this paper Mendel and Hsueh's [10] statevariable modeling technique for transforming a l-D non-causal system into a causal system is extended to 2-dimensional systems which have half-plane (HP) supports. The 2-D impulse responses treated here are restricted to a class in which their associated 2-0 z-trarisforms have separable denominators. The final state space model is a special type of socalled Roesser's model. It is a very low-order model, which is important from a computational point of view, when, for example, 2-0 recursive estimation algorithms are applied to 2-0 systems with HP supports.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
