Data analytics, machine intelligence, and other cognitive algorithms have been employed in predicting various types of diseases in health care. The revolution of artificial neural networks (ANNs) in the medical discipline emerged for data-driven applications, particularly in the healthcare domain. It ranges from diagnosis of various diseases, medical image processing, decision support system (DSS), and disease prediction. The intention of conducting the research is to ascertain the impact of parameters on diabetes data to predict whether a particular patient has a disease or not. This paper develops an improved ANN model trained using an artificial backpropagation scaled conjugate gradient neural network (ABP-SCGNN) algorithm to predict diabetes effectively. For validating the performance of the proposed model, we conduct a large set of experiments on a Pima Indian Diabetes (PID) dataset using accuracy and mean squared error (MSE) as evaluation metrics. We use different number of neurons in the hidden layer, ranging from 5 to 50, to train the ANN models. The experimental results show that the ABP-SCGNN model, containing 20 neurons, attains 93% accuracy on the validation set, which is higher than using the other ANNs models. This result confirms the model’s effectiveness and efficiency in predicting diabetes disease from the required data attributes.
Tuberculosis (TB) is a communicable pulmonary disorder and countries with low and middle-income share a higher TB burden as compared to others. The year 2020-2021 universally saw a brutal pandemic in the form of COVID-19, that crushed various lives, health infrastructures, programs, and economies worldwide at an unprecedented speed. The gravity of this estimation gets intensified in systems with limited technological advancements. To assist in the identification of tuberculosis, we propose the ensembling of efficient deep convolutional networks and machine learning algorithms that do not entail heavy computational resources. In this paper, the three of the most efficient deep convolutional networks and machine learning algorithms are employed for resource-effective (low computational and basic Imaging requirements) detection of Tuberculosis. The pivotal features extracted from the deep networks are ensembled and subsequently, the machine learning algorithms are used to identify the images based on the extracted features. The said model underwent k-fold cross-validation and achieved an accuracy of 87.90% and 99.10% with an AUC of 0.94 and 1 respectively in identifying TB infected images from Normal and COVID infected images. Also, the model's error rate, F-score, and youden's index values of 0.0093, 0.9901, and 0.9812 for TB versus COVID identification along with the model's accuracy claim that its use can be beneficial in identifying TB infections amid this COVID-19 pandemic, predominantly in countries with limited resources.INDEX TERMS COVID-19, chest X-ray, deep convolutional networks, ensemble learning, machine learning, tuberculosis. The associate editor coordinating the review of this manuscript and approving it for publication was Zhipeng Cai .
Fall prevalence is high among elderly people, which is challenging due to the severe consequences of falling. This is why rapid assistance is a critical task. Ambient assisted living (AAL) uses recent technologies such as 5G networks and the internet of medical things (IoMT) to address this research area. Edge computing can reduce the cost of cloud communication, including high latency and bandwidth use, by moving conventional healthcare services and applications closer to end-users. Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques such as deep learning (DL) have been used recently for automatic fall detection, as well as supporting healthcare services. However, DL requires a vast amount of data and substantial processing power to improve its performance for the IoMT linked to the traditional edge computing environment. This research proposes an effective fall detection framework based on DL algorithms and mobile edge computing (MEC) within 5G wireless networks, the aim being to empower IoMT-based healthcare applications. We also propose the use of a deep gated recurrent unit (DGRU) neural network to improve the accuracy of existing DL-based fall detection methods. DGRU has the advantage of dealing with time-series IoMT data, and it can reduce the number of parameters and avoid the vanishing gradient problem. The experimental results on two public datasets show that the DGRU model of the proposed framework achieves higher accuracy rates compared to the current related works on the same datasets.
<p>One of the most dominant and feasible technique is called the PHF setting is exist in the circumstances of fuzzy set theory for handling intricate and vague data in genuine life scenario. The perception of PHF setting is massive universal is compared to these assumptions, who must cope with two or three sorts of data in the shape of singleton element. Under the consideration of the PHF setting, we utilized some SM in the region of the PHF setting are to diagnose the PHFDSM, PHFWDSM, PHFJSM, PHFWJSM, PHFCSM, PHFWCSM, PHFHVSM, PHFWHVSM and demonstrated their flexible parts. Likewise, a lot of examples are exposed under the invented measures based on PHF data in the environment of medical diagnosis to demonstrate the stability and elasticity of the explored works. Finally, the sensitive analysis of the presented works is also implemented and illuminated their graphical structures.</p>
Nowadays, healthcare has become an important area for the Internet of Things (IoT) to automate healthcare facilities to share and use patient data anytime and anywhere with Internet services. At present, the host-based Internet paradigm is used for sharing and accessing healthcare-related data. However, due to the location-dependent nature, it suffers from latency, mobility, and security. For this purpose, Named Data Networking (NDN) has been recommended as the future Internet paradigm to cover the shortcomings of the traditional host-based Internet paradigm. Unfortunately, the novel breed lacks a secure framework for healthcare. This article constructs an NDN-Based Internet of Medical Things (NDN-IoMT) framework using a lightweight certificateless (CLC) signature. We adopt the Hyperelliptic Curve Cryptosystem (HCC) to reduce cost, which provides strong security using a smaller key size compared to Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem (ECC). Furthermore, we validate the safety of the proposed scheme through AVISPA. For cost-efficiency, we compare the designed scheme with relevant certificateless signature schemes. The final result shows that our proposed scheme uses minimal network resources. Lastly, we deploy the given framework on NDN-IoMT.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
