Key success for organization with millennial workforce to win the competitiveness on business industry in 4.0 era is having a compatible model of work engagement. In 2025, millennials will dominate up to 75% of the labour force. Therefore it is necessary to scientifically inquire deeper on this generation. This research adopted Job Demand Resources Model (JD-R) as theoretical framework. It specifically aimed to analyse the most suitable work engagement model among millennials who work at state owned companies. Predictor variables in this research were job crafting and meaningful work as mediator. This quantitative research (N=318) used scaling for data collection and Structural Equation Model (SEM) to test the data. This research found: 1) work engagement model fits for the millennial workforce, 2) job crafting has direct significant effect to work engagement, and 3) meaningful work plays as mediator between job crafting and work engagement.
Gotong Royong, as an Indonesian national identity, is not a new concept because it is a long-standing Indonesian cultural value. As an Indonesian ancestor legacy, in the form of immaterial asset, Gotong Royong has been indicated to have been deeply rooted in the Indonesian society’s life. Therefore, there is a need to study and explore the meaning and history of Gotong Royong. This study employs library research, which allows the use of references in the form of articles, books, and journals as its primary data of analysis. The result of this study is that Gotong Royong has existed since Before Christ (B.C.) to the present. The conclusion of this study is the expectation that Gotong Royong is continually maintained as the way of life for Indonesians because Gotong Royong is evident in Pancasila, Bhineka Tunggal Ika, and in living a democratic life
The purpose of this study is to develop a new integrative theory of motivation drawn from the existing theories and data. The method used is a combination of meta-ethnography and grounded theory. The second phase of the study employed a thought experiment to test the newly developed theoretical propositions of motivational force. The first phase of the study revealed a central phenomenon for the occurrence of motivational force, i.e. "In Search for Anchors," which is a result of the paradox between freedom to choose and human vulnerability. "Freedom to choose" is the central factor of a motivational model that includes "urge," "challenge," "incentive," and "meaning." These five factors are motivational sources, which have holistic-dynamic-integrative interaction. Human vulnerability is the other side of the motivational model that comprises risk, uncertainty, and hope that ignite motivational force. The dynamic interaction of risk, uncertainty, and hope is represented in a mathematical formula that produces the strength of the force, (R -H)2 x U, which can be potrayed in a "twin-peak" curve. The thought experiment was conducted to test the hypothetical formula. The result shows that the "twinpeak" hypothesis is supported but the shape of the curve is found to be not symmetrical. The data show that hope is the strongest motivational force, therefore the formula is modified into = (R -U)2 x H. The implication of the study and the utility of the new theory are discussed.
Some of the problems that are frequently found in villages are unemployment and urbanization among rural youth. This study aimed to (1) Identify the factors that cause unemployment and urbanization among the youth in Tamansari Village, Karangmoncol Subdistrict, Purbalingga Regency, Central Java Province, (2) Analyze the causes of unemployment and urbanization among the youth in Tamansari Village, Karangmoncol Subdistrict, Purbalingga Regency, Central Java Province. This was a qualitative descriptive study. The informants in this study were the young people in Tamansari Village, and the Head of Tamansari Village. The data were collected through interview, observation, documentation, and online data search techniques. The analysis in this study was carried out using descriptive qualitative analysis and comparative analysis. The results of the study showed that (1) There are some factors that cause unemployment and urbanization among the youth in Tamansari Village, Karangmoncol Subdistrict, Purbalingga Regency, Central Java Province, (2) Several causes of unemployment and urbanization among the youth in Tamansari Village, Karangmoncol Subdistrict, Purbalingga Regency, Central Java Province were revealed.
