Today, the Islamic education learning design tends teacher centered so the end result only transfer of knowledge. One learning design that can be applied in teaching of Islamic education is Sistem Among. Sistem Among created by Ki Hajar Dewantara an education system which is implemented by providing the freedom for students to act freely based on the rules, including the Quran and Hadith. So, the system can develop a sense of confidence, aspirations and activities of students. Sistem Among consists of three principles, That is nontoni (observe), niteni (recall/memorize), and nirokaken (imitated). Sistem Among aims to build students to be faithful and devoted man, physically and spiritually independent, virtuous, intelligent and skilled, physically and mentally healthy, to become a good citizenship, responsible for religion, and welfare homeland. The formulation of the problem to be discussed is how to design of Islamic education learning with Sistem Among. Three basic principles of Sistem Among require active participation and appreciative of teachers in Islamic education. Thus, This system is expected to bring forth a superior muslim, competent, and able to actualize the values of Islam rahmatan lil Alamin.
Indonesia has a cultural diversity and many potential disasters. Human response to the surrounding environment creates local wisdom in harmony with nature as part of preserve environmental quality, one of which is known from indigenous houses existence. This study aims to analyse a green development concept based on local wisdom of Kampung Kuta’s indigenous house in Ciamis, West Java. The green development concept was revealed through socio-cultural facts based on lexicon data on indigenous house building with a eco-cultural approach. The study found 36 lexicons from Kuta’s indigenous house which are divided into the upper, middle, and lower parts of the building, where all the lexicons are noun according to their functions and meanings. Green development at the Kuta’s indigenous house was found at the stage of obtaining and selecting, storing, and reprocessing the building materials consisting of bamboo, wood, palm fibres, leaves, and stones. The green development of Kuta’s indigenous house is oriented to the use of sustainable material that only comes from the surrounding. The green development concept in indigenous house signifies harmony with nature to sustain the needs of future generations.
Abstract:This research aims to reveal the origin and meaning of toponyms are contained on The East Region of Cirebon. The methods used in this study is ethnographic methods with descriptive qualitative approach and ethnolinguistic analysis technique. The object of this research is the name of villages in The East Region of Cirebon consisting of 191 villages from 18 sub-districts are located in the east of Cirebon Regency, West Java. Sources of data about names of villages in The East Region of Cirebon are obtained from literature studies and field observations. In this study found the physical environmental aspect on toponyms in The East Region of Cirebon means water, flora, landform, and land use. Meanwhile, socio-cultural aspects are characterized by words mean on historical events, expectations, perceptions, and community activities. Naming derived from Javanese (57%), Sundanese (33%), Sundanese and Javanese (8%), and others language (2%). Meanwhile, 42% of village toponim in the region means physical environment and 58% means socio-cultural aspects.
